So we did get the BFN on Monday after getting AF 😞
We have one 4AB blastocyst frozen which the clinic have encouraged me to go for on my next cycle (around 10th March), I just wondered what experience you had of a FET, is there anything I can do to prepare, is the success rate lower on a FET?
You guys have been so supportive so I just wanted to thank you for keeping me sane in this crazy, crazy journey! xx

Hi! I'm sorry for you BFN. I only had FET done and without medication and I've read that frozen transfers have more success rates. Really I don't if you can do anything besides having a healthy diet. Probably your clinic will check your hormones and see if you'll need more progesteron or more estrogen for the lining thickness.
I never took them for a long time...only on my 1st round but for about 4 days..we were expecting a fresh transfer but none made it to day 5 so I stopped them and I remember that they were more out then in but my nurse reassured me that you body is absorbing enough and some will eventually come out. I hated that part.
Hi Auds, I’m following this post as I’ve had a BFN too and am wondering about the FET process. Let’s hope we end up with BFP next time. I have heard that FETs are easier on the body so at least that’s something! ✨ hope you’re feeling okay xxx
Hey RedFox, how are you feeling? So sorry to hear about your BFN too 😔 I’m going though all sorts of emotions but trying to be positive and upbeat about the FET, I’m definitely ready for it…xx
Hi sorry about your BFN just thought i’d share my story with some hope. I went through IVF 4 years ago and my first fresh cycle being a good embryo failed i was so disappointed. A few months later had an FET of the only 2 embryos i had frozen 3bb and 4bb was medicated cycle with progesterone 1 of those embryos took whom is my 4 year old daughter. Frozen cycles do work and for some they are better I am desperate for a sibling for my daughter so have recently had a couple of rounds of Ivf fresh ending up being chemical and then having to cancel due to covid!!
I have a frozen embryo transfer in march i really pray it works and yours too - these frozen embryos are very strong fingers crossed!!!
There is actually a very slightly higher chance of a FET working compared to a fresh transfer but the % is so slight it’s negligible. Well I threw everything at my second FET as the first didn’t work. Cut out caffeine as well as alcohol, had acupuncture and bought expensive fertility bud vitamins because of the naturally occurring folate.
Yes, did mention but maybe it wasn’t clear. Fertility bud. But anything with methyl folate rather than folic acid will do and Holland and Barrett have some options
I just had a look, and it’s only a couple of people who think they have experienced a bad reaction. But I’ve read very good things about maca root - they changed the formula recently to include a few more good vitamins. I felt instantly better from taking these opposed to taking pregnacare which in my opinion has a load of stuff you don’t need including green tea extract??? Why??? Certainly not something that aides conception.
Sorry to hear about your BFN they are so hard ❤. As far as I understand there is no difference in success rates between fresh transfer and FET. I have always had medicated FET's and then take the usual supplements with them. I have also had reflexology alongside it. Your frozen embryo is excellent quality so fingers crossed for you 🤞 my second round resulted in a success for me xx
Hi I've had 3 transfers 1 fresh and 2 fets. My fresh was a bfn but got bfp on both fets. My 1st fet resulted in a miscarriage unfortunately but currently 14 weeks with fet no 2. Good luck xx
I had two fresh transfers back to back and although I got early BFPs, they didn't last past six weeks. I was convinced fresh had a better chance so I was worried about a FET but then read about for some people they're better as your body has chance to recover etc. I went for FET the month after my second early loss and found it so much gentler and predictable - I was on oestrogen and progesterone and knew how I would react to those so felt more in control (the oestrogen was pretty horrible, and the clinic reduced that right down before my FET as I over-responded, but that's just typical for me on oestrogen and lots of women are fine on it). I spent a while with the consultant working out if we could do anything different and ended up changing to ultrogestan and lubion as think I have an issue with progesterone absorption. Then took aspirin, ubiquinol, folate and some more vits - all of which the consultant was not remotely convinced of, but said they wouldn't hurt. Got a very early BFP and it was so much stronger from the start than the prior two. Could have all been chance but if I ever did this again I would go freeze all and FETs. I hope this helps reassure you 🍀
