Hi all

There have been various posts at different times about what foods to eat and avoid when preparing or undertaking fertility treatments.

I thought I'd start a forum post to give us the opportunity to share some of our recipes as I'm sure we must all have some great ones and it's always nice to try something new.

I personally would welcome any recipes which are vegetarian or which are chicken based, with plenty of goodness contained.

I'll start with a recipe I like in the comments.

Xx

I love this recipe, looks like there's loads of bits to it but it is so easy to make:

Black bean wraps

Black bean mix -

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped, Cinnamon teaspoon, Cumin teaspoon,Chipotle paste teaspoon, 2 tins Black beans

Salsa -

Tomatoes, Chilli, Coriander, Juice of half a lime

Guacamole -

Avocado, Juice of half a lime

Salad

Apple x 1, Juice of half a lime, Spinach or little gem lettuce, Radishes, Corriander

Chicken - optional

Other

Wholemeal wraps, Greek or natural yoghurt (optional), Cheese (optional)

Method

Heat a frying pan with olive oil and add garlic until it starts to brown. Add cinnamon, cumin and Chipotle. Add beans with their liquid for 10-15 mins until liquid boils down. Season.

Chop tomatoes, add chilli and Corriander. Add lime juice. Season.

Mash the avocado, add lime juice and season.

Chop apple into shards. Add lime juice. Add lettuce / spinach, radishes and corriander and Season.

Put beans, salad, guacamole and salsa into separate bowls and make tortilla.

This is modified from an Anna Jones recipe.

Great idea Skittles.

I like making healthy breakfast muffins this is the recipe:

40g oats

1 egg

60g Greek yoghurt

Frozen berries

Vanilla extract or flavour drops

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Grated courgette (optional)

Mix everything together except the frozen berries.

Split half the mix into cupcake cases, then add a frozen berry to the middle of each one, top up with the remaining mix and then add a sprinkle of frozen berries to the top of each one.

Cook for 25 mins.

Each serving makes about 4 muffins. I usually batch cook 3 portions at a time. Nice hot or cold 😄 the berry in the middle tastes likes jam.

In the TWW and just generally actually, I love a good broth! Super simple, nutritious and comforting!

This is just my made up version of it…

Chop your and fry off the below in a pan;

- onions 🧅

- celery

- kale 🥬

Add a pinch of salt and pepper and stir.

Whilst frying the above, prep your vermicelli noodles. Put them in a bowl of warm water to rinse, and put them to the side.

Once the above is fried, add a 250ml glass of water and a vegetable stock cube and leave to heat for 7/8 minutes or until it slightly bubbles. I like to add chilli flakes 🌶 for a bit of a kick as well here.

Take your vermicelli noodles out of the water and add them to the pan.

Mix everything together and leave to bubble for a further few minutes and then it should be ready to serve.

Yummy xx

Lovely thread idea Skittles11 🧡

One of my favourite things during IVF is this lentil, leek, and feta bake (recipe as image below). It’s so easy to make, tasty, and full of protein. I always serve it with a big crunchy salad with cucumbers and radishes and find it lasts two of us three meals. Sometimes I swap out the leeks for sprouts, just for some added folic acid!

Love this idea!!

I've been making a quick and easy overnight oat & chia bowl for breakfast.

A generous handful of oats, cover with milk of choice, add a tablespoon of chia seeds, a dash of cinnamon. Mix & cover, put in the fridge overnight.

In the morning top with greek yoghurt & fruit
