Clear blue date not changing

Hi everyone,

After my FET on 21st Jan I tested on the 30th with a clear blue date one and it said 2-3 weeks. I’ve just done another one this morning so 8 days later and it is still saying 2-3 weeks.

Shouldn’t it say 3+? I had a FET last year that resulted in a miscarriage and I’m now petrified it is about to happen again with that not changing. Anyone any advice?

Thanks so much x

Hi! Changing to 3+ takes some time. I've seen girls here saying it took them to reach 6-7 or 8 weeks to see 3+. Be thankful it doesn't go down. I had a miscarriage in December and from 2-3 in a matter of days it went to 1-2. Don't stress with a test that isn't very accurate if the HCG is too high. I wish you a healthy pregnancy and wonderful 9 months!

Thanks so much for the reply. I guess you just become transfixed on numbers and progress. Hopefully it will stick this time. Thanks xx

Hi lovely, don't trust those tests!! They are so inaccurate. You only can really trust them to tell you that you are pregnant.

Best to get a blood test if you want one to reassure you, but otherwise I would stop testing and wait for your viability scan.

Best of luck xx

Oh I didn’t realise they were inaccurate! That’s interesting to know. Thank you, I will try my best to wait, just seems so far away. It was this week when I lost the last one so I think my anxiety is just in over drive x

Aww I'm sorry to hear that - its a very stressful time :(

People's HCG levels are so different each pregnancy - for example some start with 50+, some 300+, some 1500+ on test day - all are viable pregnancies but the clear blue will think that the lower number means you're less pregnant - if that makes sense?

xx

Yes it does make sense. Thank you. I think I just need to wait for the scan x

Congratulations! I second what the other lovely ladies have said, don't stress at all about the digital readings (been there) 😅 and it was worry for nothing as baby was measuring exactly on track and nice & healthy 🥰 having close friends who've suffered miscarriages and stillbirths, whilst I battled my own fertility journey, I completely understand your anxiety will be high anyway so maybe this wee test not showing what you expected just became the focus for your anxiety for a short time. My very best advice, stop testing now (if you can) and refocus your mind. I had to stop myself too and it really helped. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy. Xx

I had two early losses after fresh transfers and didn't get to the first scans with those, then was really anxious/had no hope on the third transfer. I was an obsessive and nutty tester on all of them (I hid my shameful FRER secret stash under my bed so my OH didn't see how bad it has gotten...). Having stared at a lot of them for hours, and worried about when CBD would go from 1-2, 2-3 etc, I found the only reliable thing for me in all three was HCG testing which my GP did and I also used Medichecks. It doesn't remove the anxiety completely but these at least told me things were or were not going in the right direction before we could have a scan. Or if you are stronger than me, you could wait for the scan (and maybe cancel your online shopping accounts so you can't order any more). Best of luck 🍀

Thank you for your reply. I’m trying so hard not to test anymore, I guess I just need to keep everything crossed we make it to the scan day. I am now googling what a medicheck is tho… x

They're an online lab that others on here recommended - I got combined HCG and progesterone done with them through the post - just if you clinic or GP won't do it and you don't want to go to a walk-in clinic. x
