I wanted to reach out as this network was so amazing for me when I first conceived in 2017 after having IVF.
I write this on behalf of my younger sister who is very early pregnant!
She has done a digital test and normal test around 2 weeks ago and both came up positive, with the digital saying 2-3 weeks pregnant.
She has however been spotting/bleeding every day and when talking to EPU they had said as long as she’s not filling up a panty liner and having to change it, that’s quite normal.
She tested again today with digital and it now says 1-2 weeks?!
They have booked her for a scan on Wednesday thankfully but what are people’s thoughts?!
I’m worried that she’s miscarrying if bleeding and now her digital test is saying she’s only 1-2 weeks?

Hey Chantelle, the clear blue tests arent awfully reliable and I've read lots of stories on here of them not progressing very well. Also the dilution of urine can impact on things too and it's been very warm recently so your sister could be drinking a lot more fluids. However that said, unfortunately for me they have been pretty reliable so when my levels were low they corresponded with the tests. I obviously can't say for sure and nobody can with out an actual blood test but the ladies whom I've known with tests going backwards didnt have good news sadly.xx
I agree with Cinderella, I wouldn't be panicking after just one CB test as they can be inaccurate and there are so many factors that can impact the result. Spotting and bleeding is also quite normal in early pregnancy and doesn't necessarily mean bad news.
However I have also predicted my MC's by using CB and other tests and watching lines get fainter and weeks get lower. But I never made a conclusion based on one test and realistically you are unlikely to get a full answer without a scan unfortunately xx
I called my nurse when my cb was still showing 2-3 at 5w+3, her expert advise was to through the test in the bin! She said they’re completely unreliable and a scan and beta is the only way to confirm either way. Hope everything works out ok for your sister xx
