For any fellow utrogestan users, do you use the plastic applicator to insert it? I havr been using it for a few days now and it was quite sore when I inserted it today. The pessaries seem quite fiddly to insert without the applicator so just wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions to make it less painful?
Thank you! x

I couldn't use the applicator, I found the capsule just got stuck in it and came back out with it. I also found it scraped. So I ended up just inserting without the applicator like a tampon. It could all get a bit messy especially if the weather was warm as the capsules seemed to melt quite easily - I guess trying to keep them cool and with some lubricant might help?
I made myself a rather odd contraption using a nitrile glove with a regular tampon (still in its applicator) inside it. I pushed the pessary in a little with finger and thumb tip then much further in using the glove/tampon with a tiny bit of preseed lube on it. Worked a treat, much nicer than the scratchy applicator! Later on around 8 weeks I had a little spotting so started to just put the pessary lower in with a finger to keep off the cervix and pulled in a little more with pelvic floor. If you find it hard to get in with fingers to start, you could try lying down at home. It gets much easier with practice but know what you mean about being fiddly as they are quite slippy! Xx
