induction: using letrozole and Clomid in one cycle? Tired of working out what to do

Hello, I've just been told my letrozole (5mg) cycle for ovulation induction doesn't look successful. It's CD17 and it's so quiet that the clinic have suggested I take five days of Clomiphene (100mg) right away to see if that kick-starts it. They gave me the option of 5 days (500mg total) or alternate days (300mg total) to reduce chance of over-stimulation - they said it was 50/50 whether or not I would over-react. I have no idea which to do and I can't find anyone online who has used both in one cycle?! Has anyone heard of this?

For background I have PCOS and had 3 decent cycles on Clomiphene 100 and then I started being resistant. Since they've tried Letrozole I haven't had a normal successful cycle. I've not had a proper chance of getting pregnant since July as a result and my partner and I are so tired of working out what to do.
