Hi there, so sorry to hear your FET failed 😥 completely normal to be feeling low and sad. I know I was in tears when my first FET failed as you just hope don’t you.I would ask your clinic about the lining because my clinic want it to be over 7mm before starting progesteron. My first FET was cancelled as the lining stayed at 6.3mm and the next one they upped my estrogen which helped for the ones thereafter so definitely something to ask.
And I think you have to wait for a bleed and potentially you could start the next FET on the next period if the clinic allows you. And if you feel ready. It helped me always knowing there is another try around the corner to get over the disappointment. And with an FET there isn’t probably a huge amount you can do. For me it was trying to keep exercising, eat healthy but mostly trying to be relaxed and have used acupuncture for that in the past and a glass of wine occasionally but everyone is different and do what makes you feel good. My acupuncturist said to help the lining to eat lots of ‘red’ food like meat and veggies etc to help circulation. But not sure if that is a thing really.
Big hugs for now and hopefully you can do another try soon!
After the first troubles with the lining they had my on 6mg for 6 days and then 8mg a day for the remainder plus I was on estrogen patches, like they use for HRT. Not sure how ‘strong’ they are but both FET since that had a lining of 8.3mm before starting progesteron. So that seems good for me. Sadly the first was a BFN and the 2nd was BFP but sadly turned into a chemical pregnancy. I understand the feelings of wanting to know why it doesn’t work but the specialists still seem to think sometimes it is just bad luck and not always a reason for success… although I will push for more tests if my next FET doesn’t work with our last frostie. For now just trying to stay positive and accepting we likely won’t get a clear answer to the ‘why’. (Easier said than done haha).
Oh that’s good to know I will ask about the patches as well. Sorry to hear what you have been through, have your embryos been through PGS? If not prob could consider that as well.
Good luck for your next round and really hope it works for you ❤️
No we haven’t. They seem to think all should be fine with them as our issue wasn’t the ‘getting pregnant’ naturally but I had multiple ectopics Incl one leading to a ruptured tube and emergency surgery so the ivf is aiming by to work around that, but who knows. If this embryo doesn’t work we do still have funding for one more fresh cycle and likely would test more by then. I am hoping for 3rd time lucky though!
Wishing you good luck too! And also take care during these first days after the BFN. It does get easier I find and hopefully you will k ow your next plan soon!
Just like Riri88 my first round did not get thick enough on just 8mg pills, so they added in patches unfortunately bfn. Second round patches and 8mg from the start got a bit thicker and had a chemical. Now planning what will happen for the third attempt!
Hi Sj482, gosh that sounds so similar as to my journey with first a BFN followed by a BFP but turning into a chemical. So sorry to hear it didn’t work! Is there a reason why they have you wait 6 months before doing a egg collection again? That is tough. I found the waiting around being really difficult at times when you just want to get through the next step. Wishing you all the luck with the next collection and transfer!
I am Oke, got tested positive for Covid this week so at home trying to make the most of some ‘relaxing’ time while recovering from some symptoms but nothing extreme. We hope to start the next FET on the next period but now will have to check because I had covid… although I don’t think next transfer will be before early March anyway so enough time to ‘recover’. Started extra vitamines like Q10 to help prep and see what that does. How are you doing? Are you making any plans for the coming months to make the wait easier?
