I have had my coil removed yesterday after waiting nearly a year for it to be removed. 4 attempts later and here I am. Would like advise and to hear people's story on getting pregnant after coil. Me and my partner are desperate to start a family and wondered how long I need to wait and if it's safe to at least start trying now. Thank you

Your fertility goes back to normal very quickly after removal of the mirena coil - your cycle should return to normal within a month Good luck with trying
If you have regular periods again it should be fine. If not then you probably need to wait for them to return. Depending on your age if you haven’t got pregnant after 6 months of trying you can seek help with the GP. If you’re 40+ you can go straight away
Hey. I'm in the same boat. Was told 5 years ago I had PCOS by my GP when I had my second coil fitted, who said 'youre clearly in no rush to start a family so we will worry about this later...🙄'.Anyway, I had the coil for 10 years and had zero periods, had it removed begining of September, first period 4 weeks later that lasted for 3 weeks now waiting for my next one. My FP nurse said there was no need to wait to start so I haven't. She said the same as above, if period takes longer than 3 months to normalise havee a check, then if no pregnancy in 6-12 months (age dependent) they would look into. Keep us updated, good luck🤞
I had my coil removed on 12 Decemeber, got my period 13 December and got a positive pregnancy test on 11 January. Sadly I subsequently had a MMC but just wanted to stop by here to say it is totally possible to get pregnant immediately after having it removed. Hope that happens for you!
