2 weeks following tube removal, still painful

I recently had laparoscopy to remove a hydrosalpinx and they found I had severe endometriosis and adhesions which were treated and my other tube was stuck together so removed too. I’m nearly 2 weeks in and still getting pain in my abdomen, I’m struggling to do much, I can walk round the block but today I went in car for first time and experienced a lot amount of discomfort. I only got a 2 week sicknote from the hospital, which made me think I’d feel better by now. Has anyone experienced this? Should I see my gp next week for a check up? Any advice would be really helpful and put my mind at rest

Thank you for ur reply, do u mind if I ask did u see ur gp or speak to hospital about extending ur sicknote? I don’t know if I need to be reviewed by gp! I’m kinda still coming to terms with the news, I only knew about the hydrosalpinx, the second tube and the endometriosis were all new information and difficult to hear after coming round from surgery, and now I’ve to wait 8 weeks to find out what it actually means!

I just wanted to reach out because I had the same surgery to remove my tube and hydrosalpinx last Monday. I am still exhausted and on bed rest. I also have a two week sick note xx

Hi, I haven’t experienced what your describing but I had to have my tube removed for ectopic pregnancy. I felt better every day. By two weeks I was managing to walk and drive. Can you phone the ward who performed the surgery and ask them for advice? I hope you feel better soon xxxx

I had one tube removed because of assassin ectopic pregnancy, it took me a few days to be able to get up by myself, and I got back to work after 4 weeks. The doctor extended my sick note. I could've asked for to 6 weeks, but I couldn't bear to stay at home doing nothing any longer.

Hello,

I was told to take it easy for 6 weeks post laparoscopy which sounded like a very long time but it was how long it actually took for me to feel normal again ( I only had mild endo) Take it easy and look after yourself and you will be ok 😚 all the best,

I had both my tubes removed last year because of endometriosis and I was signed off for 4 weeks and went back to work at 5 weeks. I didn’t drive until 3 weeks. I felt ‘back to normal’ after 8 ish weeks. It does take time but you will heal and become stronger with each day that goes by just don’t rush yourself.
