I usually cut tea and coffee during my ivf cycle and limit my consumption before the treatment starts. What herbal teas would be good to drink before and during the treatment?
I keep reading contracting info about green and camomile tea as well.
I just love the ritual of drinking a few cups of hot drinks every day whilst working but I like to stick to safe options.
At the moment I have one or two cups of black tea and two cups of green or camomile each day. I only drink coffee occasionally when I really crave for it, maybe a cup or two in a week. Should I completely stop drinking black tea and coffee before starting another FET?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience ❤️ xx

I went down this rabbit hole myself, and most people say redbush tea is the safest option. I also drank one half-caff cup of coffee a day (without it, I'm a zombie) and pomegranate juice with hot water.
Throughout my cycle and pregnancy I switched to decaf green and decaf black tea. The only acceptable decaf black I could find was Yorkshire Tea, it actually tasted like a good black tea!
You could always have boiling water with a slice of lemon and/or honey.
As other mentioned, roobois/redbush is safe and several brands do various flavoured roobois like earl grey, vanilla, and chai. Most herbal teas are safe in sensible quantities - there is a lot of scaremongering online with long lists of things to avoid and zero actual evidence for avoiding them. The main things to avoid are liquorice/liquorice root (so be cautious with spiced teas like chai) and, depending on the stage of your round, red raspberry leaf - it is OK for building up the uterine lining, especially for a FET, but don't take after EC as it is high in phytoestrogens. Caffeine is OK in small quantities so one small coffee or tea in the morning is fine but stick to decaf otherwise. xx
So green tea has a lot of caffeine in it too. I cut out caffeine for my second FET (and btw it worked 😄) I looked into herbal teas a lot because I was cutting out caffeine. I did go onto decaf coffee beans (small amount of caffeine but only around 7mg so negligible) but I went off coffee in my early pregnancy weeks so my safe herbal go tos were:
Dandelion tea
Camomile (in fact I’m going for one of those now)
Fruit tea
Ginger
Red bush
Peppermint is controversial because of the possibility of causing cramps but I don’t think one cup is really a concern.
So now I’m still caffeine free and probably will continue for a while
Whittards do some really nice loose herbal tea mixes, one of which is mulled wine flavour. It is proper yum with a little honey in it! You’d need a tea strainer but well worth it for that tea especially. whittard.co.uk/tea/how-do-y...
