Hi 🙋♀️ well after taking some time and getting over 3 retrieval’s and 3 transfers in 1 year I’ve decided to try a iui. Crazy to do this after iui but after tests to see if I do still ovulate and then being really positive we thought we would try this. It’s crazy low odds but our consultant thought like us it was better than nothing which we are really pleased about. I thought I would document it as I know I’ve looked on here too for any information …. And of course success stories.
So far we have signed the paper work and we go next for our covid swabs. I am due a scan to look for a lead follicle next week and I am tracking my surge with opks. I have been doing this for a couple months already and it’s usually peaks around day 11 if this happens again this month I will go for the iui the next day. I’m happy we are doing something as I’m not ready to go back to ivf quiet yet but never say never. Fingers crossed for a positive scan next week xx

Hey Daisyjulia, I had three failed IVF rounds in a year and I'm turning 43 in a few months. I switched to IUI last month. My consultant said somethings similar. I am wondering maybe we are seeing the same Dr? Good luck with your scan! x
My first IUI brought me no luck, which is no surprise. Going to talk to my consultant next week and see if anything in the treatment plan needs to change. The overall plan is do to 3x IUI cycles, then I will happily 'retire' knowing that I've tried everything
IUI feels much nicer and easier than IVF. Less injections, less scans, and intercourse is encouraged! ;p
I'm also 44 and kind of similar story... 2 failed Ivfs over the last 1.5 yrs, 3rd Ivf cancelled multiple times (my choice - follicles shrinking etc). Requested to have my tubes checked/flushed to know if trying naturally was an option. Dr said at my age roughly same chance for ivf vs iui. This happened in June. Following that I decided to quit trying - even briefly considered donor eggs. Stopped all supplements. In September, thought I was starting menopause, but discovered I was pregnant naturally. Big shock! So far things are going well at 10w5d, but time will tell.Anyway, just wanted to share that it can happen at our age. Have you had your tubes checked? I have stage 4 endo and low amh, fsh 12+, and am super unhealthy right now due to quarantining/lockdowns etc.
This is amazing I’m so grateful to read this ! Congratulations 💕just wonderful news for you x
I’ve not had my tubes checked 🤔but something I could move to next maybe!! Thanks so much and wish you all the love in your pregnancy. Xx
From one 44 year old Daisy to another (not that its really my real name haha) I just wanted to wish you luck! I have heard this work for some people previously! We are onto donor eggs but looks like we won't transfer until I am 45 and maybe if by some miracle it works be giving birth at 46 (first child) .. my view is thats not old anymore! xx
Nor mine 😉donor eggs for me are not off the table it’s the partner who needs some encouragement on it but it may happen. I’ve followed your journey Daisy and you are doing amazing you should feel very proud of yourself too for sharing it too .. it helps so many of us silent followers 😅🙋♀️💕 well I’m fully ready to be a mum whatever age now like you. It’s going to be okay 👍👶🏼
