Ivf First Cycle

Hi everyone,

I'm 31 and starting my first Ivf cycle after been diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes in March 2021. The first day of my cycle was meant to be last Monday (25th October) but it still hasn't started and i’m on day 39. Has anyone else experienced this? Feeling sad, anxious and frustrated. Waited for more than 6 months to get here only for my period to be delayed.

Our cycles never behave when we need them to, do they 😆 It's such a nuisance, when you're counting on it... unless it's late for a happy miraculous reason of course! But usually, it isn't- it's just AF messing about 😪What does your clinic say about it? Are you usually regular? I think it's quite common for cycle start dates to have to change. Hoping it starts soon and wishing you lots of luck xx

You can say that again! I have a regular cycle so I was surprised this happened. Did a pregnancy test two days ago and it was negative test. Fingers crossed it does come soon. Thank you so much xx

Hi! I am in the exact same situation! Same age as you too. This is my second IVF cycle as during the first one (when I was 29) they realised I had a hydrosalphynx on one of my blocked fallopian tubes. Long story short the first IVF didn't work! Since then I had the one affected tube removed. Did you do an endoscopy?

Hi Dichelsea, this is strange! I had laparoscopy as my gynaocologiest thought I had hydrosalpinx on one of my tubes but they found both my tubes were blocked. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I won’t be going on with the process in this cycle. Hopefully things will return to normal and I’ll start end of this month or January. It’s day 44 for me and still no period. What day are you on now?

Oh it is really good that u did a laparoscopy to rule hydrosalphynx out. Very important, as it is the main cause of IVF failure. After my failed fresh transfer, my period came right away (very painful though). But perhaps you are really stressed? Sometimes we get stressed and don’t even realize it, especially during IVF.

This time around I am tackling things differently. It is day 5 of stims, and I did plenty of acupuncture to help me deal with related stress/ anxiety. My mind cannot get in terms with the fact that we are so young (31) and we have to resort to such a tolling procedure to become pregnant, while everyone around gets pregno naturally.

Have u tried acupuncture/ massages? And about your stims, was it a high dose?

Sorry to hear about your failed fresh transfer. I'm thinking same as well. That's the only logical explanation I can think of.

Same here! Some days it gets to me and I keep thinking why I have to go through this to get pregnant. It sucks but I'm thankful that at least I have this option. I've heard of a lot of good reviews about acupuncture so i’ll give it a try when my cycle finally starts. Mine is a mild dose.
