What’s the feels on acupuncture
Hey. I tried acupuncture on my second fresh cycle and my recent frozen transfer. I had much better results with my eggs and embryo quality second round but it’s hard to know whether it had something to do with different medication or of acupuncture in fact had a role. It made feel good and it helped a lot with my headaches so I carried on with it. I’m now 10dp 5dt and had my last session after the transfer. I read a lot about it and there is a lot of positive stuff out there about it and it defo has no harm so if you can afford it, it might be worth it. Best of luck xx
Hello thanks for the reply, and sending all positive vibes and fingers crossed 🤞 how often do you go for the acupuncture xx
Thank you so much lovely. I had it weekly and one session after the transfer the same day. If i get a positive I’ll carry on with it for a few more months. If not, I’ll still go for my next cycle. It did help with my blood flow and my acupuncturist gave me a lot of eating advice and how i need to keep my feet warm. I had no idea cold feet means cold uterus. All the best xx
I did specialised fertility acupuncture for 3 out of 4 transfers……the one transfer I couldn’t have it due to covid restrictions and lockdown….was the one I had twins 😂
I did find it relaxing though and it was a mix of a few different things so I did use the one technique with my twins that I could do at home which was to lie with my hands on my uterus area to keep it warm and then imagine the embryos implanting in whatever way comes to mind first? For me it was acorns taking root and growing into trees. Who knows if it made the difference but my little acorns did grow into trees 🌳
Hi, if I were you I would definitely try acupuncture. If anything it will relax you and work on some of your imbalances, which is always a good thing to do. I did it for all my cycles and truly believe it has helped me deal with the emotional rollercoaster. My acupuncturist gave me a lot of advice also and positive vibes. It’s nice to have an extra ear to listen to when things don’t work out. All in all, I would say just do it! Good luck x
I will give it ago thank you 😊 and all the best of luck xx
Accupunture has always helped me. I do it 3 dats at a row before my transfer 1 hour each and immediately after transfer 30 mins. I have been preg 3 times and I have used Accupunture in all my transfer. Now I have a 14 week daughter. Good luck it’s really made a difference go for it
Awwww congratulations that’s amazing 🥰🥰🥰 and thank you for replying I had 2 miscarriages this year so I’m willing to trying anything that will help xx
Hi @hells18, i had it for one transfer: bfp, and then my most recent transfer without it: also bfp. Difficult to say. I felt like I undid the relaxation element of it by stressing to get to and from the appointments (always during business hours😔) but that's just me. Good luck whatever you choose 😘😘😘😘🥰 xxx
I tried it and can honestly say it didn't make a blind bit of difference! But it helped me relax and made me feel like I was doing everything I could so if nothing else I didn't have any regrets when my rounds didn't work out. Good luck xx
I was advised to try it by a few friends who have been through IVF. So I did it regularly for 8 months - every session made me feel anxious as I hate the needles going in, then relaxed for 20 mins, then anxious again when the needles were about to come out.... basically I didn't enjoy it but I plugged away at it anyway as I thought it was helping. During that time I had 4 transfers - all BFN. I also had 2 egg collections with varying results. This latest cycle I didn't have any - BFP. I'm not sure it's related but for me it was a waste of time, money and stress! xx
I've been doing it for a year and a half, whilst trying naturally, but also used it on my last two IVF cycles. I didn't plan well and only had one session during stims on my cycle in June. However, for my recent cycle, which was by far my best, I actually ramped it up and had three sessions during stims. I can't say for sure it helped me get a better outcome ( 'outcome' in terms of good follicle development, mature eggs, and good fertilisation rate - no idea if any of the embies will stick!) but I feel it maybe did? And the psychosomatic effect is good for me, i think 😂 My practitioner is also very knowledgeable and supportive on diet etc, so although it's another expense I actually personally like it xx
