After 3 days of fertilization in the laboratory, the egg has divided into 4 cells only.

Very slow growing after 3 days of fertilization in the laboratory. Very worried maybe the embryo won't be healthy. Can someone pls explain to me.

Hi John. Most clinics say ideally by day 3 the embryo will have I think between 6 and 10 cells, but clinics differ. It might just be developing a bit slowly and will catch up, or else it might unfortunately stop developing. I'm sure people on here have had both! Is it your only embryo? Guess the clinic want to see if it makes it to a day 5 blastocyst, rather than transferring on day 3 then? Sorry you're having such a stressful time... the wait after Egg Collection to fertilisation then day 3 then day 5 is just awful 😖 xx
