Day 5 Results from latest cycle

For anyone interested in my saga, I wrote last week to say my last (4th) IVF cycle had gone much better than my previous cycle, which only had 2 good-sized follicles on the final scan: we miraculously managed to collect 5 eggs that time, in the end, but 3 were just too small and only 2 fertilised, with one reaching Day 5, but BFN. This time we ended up getting 6 eggs, but what was nice, for once, was that they were all mature, from good sized follicles. 5 of them fertilised with ICSI, which is a better fertilisation result than I ever got in my first 2 IVF rounds (conducted solo, sans husband, with a donor... long messy story!!). After the usual awful wait till Day 5, we were thrilled to hear THREE blastocysts made it, and have been frozen, which again is more than I've ever had reach Day 5. Bit of a mix, 4BB, 5BC, 3AC.

So hopefully there is some comfort there to others, to know that cycles really can go up and down significantly sometimes. As per my posts last week, we opted to freeze all so I can get a lump sorted out, sigh... But at least it's such a relief to know we have embryos in the freezer. Can't actually get my head round the idea of doing a FET as I never had enough to freeze before! xx

Thank you so much Daisy. You're so kind to always congratulate everyone on their successes. In my case, it's not exactly 'success' but it's the best I've ever managed so I'll take it 😆 and feel hugely grateful. We have to celebrate the milestones when we can, don't we. I know they're not super quality but I've never been too concerned with the gradings 🤷‍♀️It's basically 3 chances (if all thaw ok🤞) that I didn't expect to have so today is a good day xx

I disagree I think they are really good! Better than I have ever managed! I celebrated a 3BC once haha!! Having seen Millbanks post I have to say good luck with your little mouse! 🐭

Brill - fingers crossed they can just whip it out (or leave it). I found a little lump a while ago and had it biopsied - it was just a "breast mouse".... literally made me howl with laughter xx

It's actually a bizarre feeling to know we have frosties: and I've realised I have very little idea of what actually happens with a FET! I'll have to read some archives on here 😂I haven't even asked the consultant if he'd suggest a natural or medicated FET, clueless! I guess I'm not letting myself think about it too much until I know what's going on with this flipping lump xx
