Does anyone have any positive vs negative experiences doing long protocol back to back egg collections. My concern is does back to back EC’s have a detrimental effect on quality or quantity of eggs retrieved?

Long Protocol Back to Back Egg Collections
Hi Squeak, I’m planning to do this myself, although my clinic have advised having a month off in-between stimulations. So if I do a round in October, I’ll take November off and do another in December. They said this helps the ovaries recover. x
I'm interested in finding out about this too. We've just had our first failed cycle, 3 day transfer. We didn't get anything to freeze so we're way back to the start. OTD isn't until tomorrow so once I call them I'm hoping to get our follow up appointment booked in. I would really like to bank as many embryos, or at least eggs, as possible this time. xx
I'm 36 next month so do have a little bit time on my side, but we've been trying for 4 years and nothing is happening! I had poor response to stims (long protocol), and hubby is 43 with very low sperm count - that's why we were referred for ICSI. I'm petrified of going through this struggle for years to come 😞 Best of luck with your journey! I'd be happy to share what my consult advises when we get our appointment. x
Hi Camkid12, yes do please share any findings/insight into this and I will do the same x
So my clinic have just told be my follow-up appt wont be until November or December. There's a 4 month wait between treatments! Hopefully you get some insight sooner than that! I've no idea how I will cope between now and then 😭
Wow Camkid12, why such a long wait, clinics cannot keep patients waiting 4 months before contemplating another egg collection surely? Are you in the UK? I absolutely would be changing clinics if I was told that. We all want to be mom’s and for myself (I am 43, time is something that I cannot waste) honestly that is appalling xx
Hi there - I had five back-to-back cycles (except for one month where I did a frozen transfer), but all were retrievals and immediate transfers. I seemed to get about the same amount of eggs and embryos each time. Last cycle it worked (gave birth at 42). My doc said the reason to pause between cycles was for emotional well being or because of over stimulation (never happened to me)... so we just kept going for it. Sending good thoughts your way.
Congratulations on the birth of your rainbow baby, that’s very interesting information, did you do long protocol Jjjjtk? Xx
Congratulation on your new baby do you think when you take break for a month or more your body produce a better quality eggs because there is less stress.
