I'm not vaccinated as I got advised not to have it when starting ivf a few months backAlso taking Prednisolone (steroids) so my immune system is weak atm. Worried hope this doesn't affect anything with my babies 😭
I would straightway go to ur hospital under whoever u are and let the consultants know ASAP and let them decide . It might well be they might book u in or something . Ofcourse that’s me . I’m a fellow twin babies mum who r 14 months now .
Yes please and ask her to refer to a hospital. Bcoz u r carrying twins
And if u feel unwell straight go to ur nearest A&E . Don’t ignore any symptoms. It might be nothing . But the peace of mind is everything right now for you .
I had covid at 5 weeks pregnant, am now 10 weeks and everything is looking as it should. I'm also taking Prednisolone and after searching google, it is also given to pregnant women with covid. I had it quite mild, hope you feel better soon but defo contact your midwife in the meantime. The main thing you'll need to do is keep your temp down. Paracetamol and lots of water xx
Hi, I tested positive at 9 weeks following IVF. I was also terrified! From the current research it’s later stage pregnancy which is more risky. My consultant was very reassuring and called me on a Saturday evening after I e mailed the clinic. Do speak to your clinic/midwife as your situation is slightly different to mine and I want you to get the best advice. But keeping temp down and fluids up important. I too was unvaccinated as it was before the advice changed for those TTC and I decided not to take it once I was pregnant. I’m now 33 weeks and all seems ok. Best wishes to you, such a nervous time without adding to it! Xxx
Don't have experience whilst pregnant but heard of people and they've been fine. Stay positive the worst thing is the anxiety so just look after yourself and don't google too much. Plenty water, ginger, garlic, hot drinks, nutritious food, vit d and c, rest rest rest x
Worth asking your GP if compression stockings (like what you wear on a flight) would be a good idea as both covid and pregnancy are risk factors for blood clots - but other than that I think what a previous poster has said is right, the problems with covid+pregnancy combination are in the third trimester, so in a way this is much better timing than getting it closer to winter! Hydration important and will help the headache. Hang in there, hope your symptoms resolve v quickly
Hi Hope. Your babies will be fine, tucked away in a safe environment. You can safely take paracetamol for your headache, unless you have been prescribed something else. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen - not good for babies. Drink plenty of water and try some honey and lemon for that sore throat. My old-fashioned thought, but can be soothing. get well soon. Diane
I am currently 9 weeks and have also teated positive on Wednesday, i have no vaccines either. Its such a worry, i am just trying to keep fluids up, taking my d3 folic acid and dr recommended 1gram of vitamin c per day. I also taking honey and lemon and steaming twice per day. I have flu like symptoms but temperature and oxygen levels are both ok.
How are you feeling now lovely? Sorry for the late reply.. I’m now getting over the worst of itMy morning sickness has been awful the past few days so that’s not helping either xx
Hi ya glad to hear u are over the worst of it, i still have a chesty cough but covid symptoms otherwise are fine. I have really bad morning sickness though, well all day sickness really! Im 10 weeks today so hoping it will go soon 🤞
I had twins and can honestly say if there is a better time to get it than other times it’s now in your first trimester before your body gets under the strain a multiples pregnancy will put on it - also you’ll naturally get some antibodies that will then see you through until birth and you can get the vaccine
I would arrange a scan though for when you can stop isolating - doubt your get one on the NHS so may have to be private x
I’m 26 weeks pregnant, haven’t had any covid vaccines and was told on Wednesday by work to isolate as one of my colleagues has tested positive and I was talking to her for 1/2 hr at about a meters distance - I’ve been testing weekly before that, but since I was told to isolate I’ve been testing daily and so far a negative. The only thing I can recommend is an oximetre to keep an eye on your blood oxygen levels, 94 or less you need to go to hospital
You’ll be ok. Make sure you taking your Vitamins D and C. I also just recovered from COVID and because I take about 10 Vitamins a day, the nurse said that was probably the reason why my symptoms were not so severe. For me it was just like a cold. My husband was worst- the one I’m always forcing to take vitamins and keep his immune system strong. You will be fine so will the babies. Just give your midwife a call and don’t hesitate to go to the hospital especially if you have a bad cough- could be pneumonia.
