5 weeks positive

Hi all, First time posting, need a little help.

Just gone through IVF for the first time. Found out it’s been positive last Tuesday. Since then been excited but scared.

Had a scare Sunday night woke up in extreme pain - went hospital and they said everything looked fine but also referred me to EPU.

Had my EPU scan today- found the Sac but no yolk or amniotic sac- I’m 5 weeks pregnant. However when scanning she did say she could see something in the sac.

But I’m worried and scared it’s heading towards a miscarriage as there is no yolk or amniotic sac , is this normal?

They’ve called me back in 2 weeks time.

Oh gosh I’m sorry to read this. I hope that all will be ok for you. I know from other posts on here that 5 weeks is so so early to be able to see much at all on a scan. I know I’ve had bad pains early on but have been reassured that so long as there’s no bleeding all is ok. And I guess from the scan they could tell it wasn’t an ectopic. Could be a cyst maybe? Hope you feel better xx

Thank you for your reply. Yes I feel a little better from reading online that it’s normal to not see anything. Such an anxious time, everything seems scary and worrisome. So far there’s been no bleeding and the pain hasn’t come back either. Shouldn’t be any cysts as I was on zoladex injections right after my May surgery and started ivf inmediately afterwards, but then again endo loves reading its ugly head so Anything is possible. Just keeping my fingers crossed in 2 weeks there’ll be more to see XX

Waiting for the viability scan was horrible! I understand you’re feeling anxious. Totally normal. Hold on in there and hope you have good news in a couple of weeks! X

Thank you Cinderella5 for the kind words. Xx

I too had some quite horrible pains throughout this pregnancy. I had 3 scans before 12 weeks because they worried me so much. I was also told not to worry too much unless I was bleeding too. I also have Endometriosis & some cysts had appeared on a ovary at the 7 week scan ( have disappeared again now ) . Pregnancy is a scary experience sometimes but I wish you lots of luck & a happy & healthy pregnancy x
