Potentially sensitive - scan after bleed and clot.

I’ve seen a few posts of ladies worrying and thinking it’s all over after bleeding. I had spotting on and off up to my viability scan 2 weeks ago. Baby’s heartbeat was there and she (I’m convinced it’s a girl!!) was fine. The day after the viability scan, I had a bleed. It was bright red and lasted most of the day. I also passed a large clot. I then continued to spot for over a week. I had a reassurance scan today and baby was looking perfect. There was no blood around the baby and she said that the bleed was mostly caused by a ruptured blood vessel. She said a ruptured blood vessel will bleed and clot like I described. I’m now 8+5.

I just thought this post might bring some hope to others suffering with bleeding early on. ❤️

Hi Emlou. So pleased that you have had some reassuranc e as to what has cauised the bleed. it can take longer for a vessel to seal off properly, when in a wet area e.g. cervix/vagina, so hopefully, all continues to go as it should. Diane
