FET embryo not re-inflated

Hi all, I’ve just had a FET of a 4AA blastocyst, but embryologist said it hadn’t fully re-expanded following thawing. It was imported to my current clinic (private) from my previous one (NHS) as the NHS clinic isn’t doing private treatment at the moment because of Covid. Embryologist said they quite often see this with embryos from the NHS clinic (and they see lots) but it has got me very worried that the embryo hasn’t survived. Has anyone had any experience with this situation?

Hi Vic, I’ve had a transfer before where the embryo hadn’t re-expanded. The embryologist said this was perfectly fine and nothing to worry about.Unfortunately that particular transfer wasn’t successful for us but that was down to a whole host of other issues!!

Hi Millbanks, thanks for your reply, it’s reassuring to hear that your embryologist said it’s not a big deal 😊. Our embryologist said it happens a lot with embryos from our previous clinic, something to do with different freezing/unfreezing processes. Good luck with your fertility journey xx
