Last time I posted here was 5 months ago after my 16th week gender scan. Probably one of the happiest days of my life but since then we’ve faced & crossed so many hurdles with our baby-girl.

After a successful 1st round of IVF I was told that I have a low-lying placenta at the 20w scan “not uncommon”. And so a follow up scan was offered at 32w. Meanwhile at my 28th week check up midwife told us that the baby is breeched.

During the 32nd week scan baby was still breeched however the sonographer found some blood vessel’s covering my cervix and after having the scan repeated 3 times the same day they diagnosed Vasa Previa. I was told I would need to be hospitalised from 34w and if everything goes as planned Baby will be delivered at 36w latest. After that day we passed every single second worrying & praying for our little baby girl. I was admitted to the hospital with reduced baby movements at 33.6w & stayed 15 days in the hospital before she was born exactly on her 36th week via planned c-section. Crying and breathing normally eager to feed on mummy, our fighter stole our hearts, the moment we heard her cry.

I faced so many complications, the days felt never ending in the hospital at times and I would think to myself why me??

But in the end everything makes sense now and I’ll do this all over again if I have to just to have her & to hold her.

IVF is painful & emotionally exhausting at another level but I’m here to tell you that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. So, please keep on fighting & don’t lose hope.

I have to mention here as well, please be aware if you have a low lying placenta throughout pregnancy, get checked for any sings for Vasa Previa as there’re no separate diagnosis for it. Undiagnosed VP can be very dangerous, sometimes fatal for the baby. I’m so so very grateful to the man who diagnosed my VP, he’s definitely one of the biggest reasons we get to hold our rainbow baby today.

Sending Love & Prayers to everyone going through the IVF journey..just keep on fighting..

Please do keep our baby girl in your prayers..xx

It’s a great platform to raise awareness about anything that relates to IVF. VP is a very rare condition but one of the reasons for VP is IVF pregnancy. Thank you ever so much for appreciating 💋💋
