I had my first scan yesterday and only 1 follicle was at 13mm, had another at 8-10mm then 3 under 8mm. Got to go for another scan tomorrow to see if the smaller ones are catching up. This is my second cycle and last time at this point I had 4 at the right size to proceed with EC. I'm worried now that they won't catch up and my cycle will get cancelled π. Any success stories of them catching up in 2 days? Feel sick to my stomach as age is not on my side at all (41) xx

Hi Bex2 Each cycle can be completely different from the one before - it looks to be all on track . Follicles are expected to grow 1- 2 mm each day - just keep taking your medication as directedGood luck for your next scan
Thanks for your reply. Yeah probably very naive of me to think could be the same second time around, the nurse didn't sound too convinced they will catch up. Hoping they will and can just take my meds a few more days π
I stimulated for 16 days!!! I was massively uncomfortable and significantly poorer than I expected to be at the start but the doctors were super happy with the slow and steady approach. I had 18 eggs collected from an initial 12, 13 fertilised normally and 7 made it to good day 5 blasts. I'm 38 with an amh of 9 and on my first ivf round my follicles blew up to 20mm in 8, 9 days but no embryos made it to day 5. Every woman is different but the looooong protocol worked for me. Hope they all grow beautifully. Hang in there. Xo
Thanks for your reply. Wow 16 days stimming I was definitely lucky then last time!
The nurse just didn't sound optimistic when I called this morning, maybe that's because they have to stay kinda neutral i guess.
12 is amazing I only have 5 in total. My AMH was 5.4 in November last year. 7 eggs is brilliant to make to blastocyst! Thats so good, we had 6 eggs, 4 fertilised and then 1 blastocyst. I've started taking DHEA for this round so was hoping for more eggs but now will happy to just make it to EC. Yeah guess everyone is so different hard to compare really. Thank you and all the best to you on your journey xx
Hi Bex2, I am turning 41 next month and started my 2nd stim today - first time ICIS. My doctor has me on the Long Protocol. The first stim, I just did egg collection and got 3 β¦ so will have to see how this one goes. Wish you luck and your not alone in your journey β¨π
I stimmed for 17 days on both rounds of 'short' protocols. I get one big follicle early and the rest don't do anything until around day 10, then they all suddenly wake up. I got 9 eggs and 6 eggs, then good blasts but first time only 4 fertilised and 2 made it to day 5, whereas second it was 100% and all 5 day blasts. Difference seemed to be partner's sperm quality on the day. My AMH is high (but no PCOS) and they have no idea why I have such a weird response or why I don't have more eggs - perhaps I need to stim for a month Both times it's been suggested to cancel early but that last week makes all the difference for me and some grow super fast in a couple of days. Your results sound good from last time and your current count isn't that different to what I had. I was very disappointed when I saw ladies on here getting 15+ very quickly but everyone's different. Best of luck!
Thanks ladies for your replies just had confirmation my cycle is being cancelled π feel gutted. Review in September so hopefully next time my ovaries play ball! Good luck to you all on your journey ππ€
I had more the first time too. And this last time I was so scared because I was taking the meds and going for ultrasounds everyday and nothing was hardly growing. And than one day I had another ultrasound and a few grew!! It was the weirdest thing. I guess they just needed more time to grow. So, don't lose hope! You might just need a few more days with the meds. And like everyone always tells me, it just takes one!! XX
I used a microwave belly wrap from Amazon when stimming. Follicles really grew.
