Hello, looking for a bit of reassurance if that’s possible!
We had fresh transfer which resulted in a positive test but at the 7 week scan, growth wasn’t right and I had to wait for miscarriage. We are now going with our other embryo from the same round! I am really worried that they are just bad embryos and it won’t work or will lose it again! Has anyone had a successful pregnancy after a miscarriage from the same round? This may sound stupid! I just can’t get it out of my head that we are wasting time using this embryo!
Thank you

Hi there, it hasn't happened to me but I have read many many many maaaaany stories of women who have had successful pregnancies after miscarrying or simply not getting pregnant with the first one, two, three embryos from the same IVF round. Anecdotally, what's the name of that Eastenders actress? Linda in the show. She's spoken openly about IVF. She's currently pregnant for the second time with a frozen embryo from the same round after not getting pregnant with 2 other frozen embryos. And most of the time, pre transfer genetic testing on embryos throws up a few good ones amongst genetically bad ones. But even those don't always implant. It's just probabilities. And they're never 0 unless there is a serious medical issue. Don't throw away the entire round just because one embryo didn't stick. Have faith. Good luck to you xo
Thank you so much for your reply! I am driving myself crazy worrying about it! But like you said I’m sure lots of people have gone on to be successful! And surely they wouldn’t suggest it if there was no chance? It’s just so hard! X
You're so welcome. I'm lucky enough to have 6 more good grade frozen embryos from this second round of IVF (the first round was completely wasted) and I NEVER expected to get pregnant with the first transfer. From everything I have read over 3 years, I hoped maybe the 3rd or 4th one might stick. I'm only 9 weeks pregnant now and it could still all go wrong. You become hyper aware of miscarriages once you've had one or two. Seriously, very very few people get pregnant on the very very first transfer. You'll be ok. X
Thank you! You honestly don’t know how much I needed to hear that today! Just got to keep going haven’t we! Congratulations on your positive, everything crossed for you!x
Hi I'm just on a FET round after a failed fresh transfer. This never entered my mind because I just think each one is totally different even if the same batch. Take non identical twins same eggs and sperms created at same time but they won't look alike or be the same person. Each embryo has its own make up even if the ingredients are the same. Try not to worry and what will be will be. Xx
