Egg collection was today, some of you may have read my post from earlier - didn’t really go to plan.
Anyway, since earlier I have felt like a trapped wind feeling in my chest, shoulder and neck. I am not breathless, if I lean on my side I feel it. It feels like trapped wind but extreme.
Has anyone had this?

I was going to but my husband seems to think I’m fine and told me to stop worrying. I don’t know if it’s something to worry about, there’s some absolute horror stories online.
Are you still ok going to the toilet and can you empty your bladder? Can you sit and/or lay down? I had extreme pain after one of my egg collections and was told to go to a & e when I no longer could do these things. Also keep an eye on your weight. If you gain more than a kilo in a day you need to contact a doctor. Also when you are throwing up or develop a temperature you need to seek help. If you are feeling worried and anxious having pain in your chest is quite normal. Also the sedation you are given during the procedure will mess up your ingestion. Did you take some paracetamol? Maybe find something distracting like a something on netflix or just a chat with a friend. If you still feeling horrible after this call your out of hours doctor for more advice. Hope you feel better soon xxx
I had a similar feeling but I started to struggle to breathe. It honestly felt as if someone was trying to crush me around my ribs. Laying down propped up with pillows still counts as laying down. I wasn't able to do that anymore. When I got to the hospital all I could do is stand next to my bed. I got a morphine drip and I had to stay for a night (and more but I went home just before I had to spend another night). It was horrible but ultimately they didn't know what it was- they suspected bad constipation 😐 My other 3 egg collections were fine. Hang in there! Xxx
Oh- and in the morning I felt soooooo much better. I was just still struggling to empty my bladder (that's why the hospital made me stay) and looked 8 months pregnant. Xx
Not wanting to scare but I was told shoulder tip pain was a symptom. There’s no harm in getting it checked out and you know your body better than anybody. xx
You may have a blood collection after the procedure, which is irritating your diaphragm, causing the shoulder tip pain. Can you do your heart rate? If the pain gets worse or you can’t pass urine I’d go to A&E and either way I would request your clinic to do a scan on you tomorrow to check you do not have a collection. Stay safe x pls speak to a medical professional tonight
