IM progesterone

Hi guys,

I’m 10dp5dt… currently on the IM progesterone shots in the evening..

today for the first time I got blood return when I aspirated the needle. I didn’t get any blood in the actual syringe so I just witched needles and injection site and injected the medicine I had drawn up..

Just a bit paranoid, does that sound ok?? I’m always afraid I’d do it wrong and miss a dose

Hey, do you mean that when you pull the needle completely out, there’s a little blood at the entrance site? If so, that’s fine… I always bleed with any injection I do but especially the clexane and the POI shots (which hurt so much). My husband does them, always checks that there’s no blood in the syringe as you should and then pushes it all in! You’ll be okay xxx

Yup you've done completely the right thing. You just hit a blood vessel going in, so yes by taking the needle out changing the needle and then injecting again is fine
