2nd Covid Vaccine 2days after transfer

So I went to the clinic for my second covid vaccine last night, and when I got there I asked the simple question as to whether it would be safe so close to transfer.

The lovely nurse advised that the vaccine is safe for pregnancy, but I explained I am not yet pregnant officially and more accurately have a very precious and vulnerable microscopic cell wondering my uterus looking for its home.

She went to speak to her manager who came over and said 'There is no research available on the vaccine and IVF, so the risk would be entirely yours.' Which was obviously a no brainer. I can wait until I know for sure whether I am pregnant or not but this also really concerned me.

Has anyone else had the vaccine within the transfer > test window?

My clinic advise not having the jab in the 2ww (or close to transfer or EC) as it is a very precarious time. Having said this, I got really sick with a bad cold (not COVID) on the evening of transfer and got my first ever BFP later. This was of course not my choice so if the round had failed I had nothing to regret. Xx

I was advised not to have vaccine from 2 weeks before the transfer by my consultant. Obviously he is no vaccine expert but it can affect your hormones and immune system for the short term. At this point I wouldn't risk it and just wait( like everything in this journey!)

I personally wouldn't right now - I got my first vaccination when we had a month off trying when we were having an appointment with a miscarriage specialist. I am now nearly 8 weeks and i have decided against having my second dose in my pregnancy.. But im not in a position of high risk and can shield . I think the advice is it's safe in the second trimester is what I have read. It's a personal decision to make to your circumstances. Good luck with the 2ww Xx

Im now 4dpt and I had my first jab last week - 5 days before transfer. Dr said it was my decision, there's no evidence it has a negative effect, but there aren't many studies yet, everything is so recent. I'm in Brazil and things are still pretty bad here, so I decided I would rather start a potential pregnancy with some level of protection and then make the decision about a second jab as and when, if we were lucky enough to get a positive. Why not wait just a little longer until you know what your situation is (hopefully preggers!!) and you can make a more informed decision then. Good luck xxx

My doctor advised that I shouldn't try fall pregnant within 8 weeks of the second jab. I decided to go ahead with the second vaccine about 4 weeks ahead of my transfer. I definitely wouldn't have done it during my TWW

I am going to take my second COVID-19 vaccine on Monday the 19th by 11 am and I also have my second scan that same 19th in the morning by 8am for my frozen Embrayo transfer that will take place that same week i told my doctor about the vaccine she told me to go ahead and take it that it will not have any negative impact

Hey. I would also wait until you know. I was on the fence about even having the vaccine done while TTC - due to unknown risks around cells, plus advice saying don’t do it if you plan to get pregnant within 2 months. However I am currently in isolation with COVID and waiting for my poor hubby to come home from hospital due to COVID. We’ve had to delay any treatment now due to isolation - so if not pregnant this month then I will certainly be having the vax now, to avoid any future delays again.Hope the vax goes well if you go for it - and hoping you get your BFP!!🌺

I asked my consultant this on day of transfer as mine was 2 days later. I know a bit about autoimmunity and was concerned if I had it it might impact my body’s response to the virus and any potential embryo developing. The guidance now states that you should delay vaccine/second vaccine until between 12 and 28 weeks of pregnancy according to my clinic and that’s what I’ve gone with….I’m currently 10 days post my first 5 day fresh embryo transfer 🤞. The TWW is killing me but I’m determined not to test early. It’s the most torturous wait I’ve ever experienced and the rollercoaster is just insane. Good luck and take care x

I had both doses of my vaccine on the last day of the TWW and was a bit worried about getting a fever or feeling very sick because I usually do after vaccines. I went for my pregnancy test (it's blood here), then had the jab on the same day, then got the results.
