I had my collection last Wednesday and transfer on Friday. I am on medication to try to reduce the risk of over stimulation but I have been super bloated for the last few days. I also keep feeling a bit nauseous. The clinic said this was normal when I went for transfer and that it should settle within the next few days. It doesn't really seem to have settled and now I am back at work looking a few months pregnant! Has anyone else experienced bloating for this long and not had OHSS?
I am worrying so much about getting bad OHSS as I had a lot of eggs collected and I've had 2 embryos put back in. I am going to check with the clinic that how I am feeling is ok but just wanted to hear about other peoples experiences. Try not to scare me if you had OHSS!!

I struggled with the bloat, my tummy was so round and hard. It did take a week or so for it to start to reduce. Lots of water and gentle exercise if you can xx
The exercise is where I am falling down at the moment. I blame the hot weather but I know I could do more. Thanks for the advice.
I had my transfer yesterday and the nurse commented on the size of my ovaries. I feel generally well but still a little uncomfortable now and then from EG (18 eggs collected) and my stomach is big. I cant actually fasten any of my jeans so walking round work quickly in order to get back to my desk and undo everything! I also have waves of nausea. I was told to drink at least 2 litres of water a day to get the bloat down. They also said it could take another week to 10 days to get back to normal. I havent been given anything for it though xx
I know these are my worries too, wearing floaty tops. Forgot to cover my arms which are still black and blue from blood tests and my hand from the canula. If anyone asks i'll just say i was in a fight 👀😂
This was me last week and I had OHSS - it got progressively worse throughout the week and nothing really helped except lots of rest. I was in daily contact with my clinic and when it got worse they were taking daily bloods to check my hormone levels and to make sure my blood wasn’t dehydrating to a level where it could cause clots. I was told to go to hospital with any symptoms like pain in calves, trouble breathing or significant reduction in urine. I did end up in hospital briefly with breathing difficulties which was the bloat pressing up on my lungs. I’m on the mend now although the bloat prevails (10 days after collection) - I am told it goes with a period but can get worse if you do get pregnant. It’s terrible especially when you are trying to cope with the emotion of the cycle - I hope your body pulls you out of it soon!
Wow, sounds like you've really been through it. I am glad you are getting better now. I haven't been told to look out for many things other than breathing issues and less urine. I will keep an eye out for the other things you mentioned.
I would be overjoyed to be pregnant but I also know that it will make it much worse if I am. It's a day of being a bit fed up today.
I know you don’t want to hear about OHSS but I’m telling you anyway: symptoms worsening after transfer might mean late onset OHSS - pretty much surely triggered by pregnancy! A cloud with massive silver lining so to say. I had a mild version. 3+ litres of water a day, extra salt (bring on the crisps!) and protein with every meal (eggs, meat, fish, pulses, nuts, Greek yoghurt or skyr). Hope it relieves soon and that it’s a pregnancy that triggered it!
Thank you for your advice and your lovely words. I love crisps so that definitely works for me! I've just bought lots of protein rich foods too and I'm having fish for dinner! Protein here we come!
