So I had my viability scan this morning. I am 7 weeks and 3 days and all looked good. Obviously over the moon but still so nervous about everything.
I am currently on lubion in the morning and 2 x Utrogestan in the evening. The clinic have said I can now stop the lubion and just take 2 x Utrogestan in the morning and 2 in the evening. Has anyone else had this? I am really nervous to stop Lubion.
I had my progesterone tested on 11dp5dt and it was 35 which they said was fine as they like it to be over 30. I was still worried it was low but everything was ok the scan so it must be ok?
Has anyone had a similar experience with stopping Lubion after the viability scan?

Not stopped yet but my clinic told me to stop Lubion and Utrogestan (ie everything) at the viability scan. I insisted I wanted to stay on it until 12 weeks due to previous history but their policy is usually to stop everything at 7 weeks. The placenta should be doing something by then, if not everything. Xx
Wow I definitely wouldn’t be stopping everything! They want me to stay on everything till 10 weeks but to replace my morning Lubion injection with Utrogestan instead. I guess I’m just worried about stopping the injections and moving to just pessaries so soon x
As the placenta will have started making progesterone by 7 weeks, I assume they feel the Lubion is unnecessary and switching to just Utrogestan is simply a form of weaning. However, I totally understand your concern as I wasn't prepared to stop anything right now! xx
My clinic uses the same threshold; I was weaned off late because my levels were low for some time with my pregnancy but if you levels are that high your body is doing quite a bit of work and you are ready.
I was 35 on my test day which was 11dp5dt. Is that high? I’ve seen ladies in the hundreds so I thought that was low. Clinic said they like over 30 so they were happy x
Yes, every time my level was over 30, they stepped me down a bit more. 30 is the threshold at my clinic as well. When I say low, mine was 17-20 for a while so they kept me on until I was over 30 before weening.
My clinic usually start reducing progesterone around the 12 week mark. In theory, the placenta should be taking over around now. If your clinic will allow it then stay on progesterone for your own peace of mind. As for the progesterone measurement, depends what units it was measured in. All the best, I'm super delighted for you!!💗xx
I’m staying on progesterone and estrogen until 10 weeks (I would prefer 12 to be honest) but they want me to replace my morning Lubion injection with Utrogestan straight away. So from now until 10 weeks I will be on Utrogestan twice a day instead of Lubion and Utrogestan. I’m worried about coming off the Lubion so early but I guess I will still have progesterone support at least?
Any change is just super scary because I’m so worried about doing anything to damage my chances 😩
Congratulations on your positive viability scan! I had mine last week at 6 weeks and 5 days, I am staying on Lubion until 12 weeks and also 4 x cyclogest a day as well as 4 x progynova a day. I seem to be on an awful lot! However I had a heavy bleed a 5 weeks and 5 days and was told it was a small haematoma - so that’s when I started the Lubion. I understand and sympathise with your nervousness to stop or change the medications. I’ve never even had a blood test for my progesterone…clinics are all so different!
Is it worth discussing it with your clinic again even if it’s just for your own reassurance? I’m sure they’re suggesting the best protocol for you and your pregnancy and everyone is different. Good luck. I really feel for anyone suffering with anxiety, I’ve been awake since 4am as I can’t switch negative thoughts creeping in xx
I’ve just spoken to my clinic and explained I am really nervous about stopping the Lubion. The nurse is going to speak to someone and ask if I can stay on it although there will be a cost implication. She said it was supposed to be a happy time and if I was worried that’s not what they want which was nice of her.
I’m nervous about stopping at 10 weeks instead of 12 as well to be honest but think I will wean off rather than stop all together, she said I could do that if it made me feel better.
I feel like such a pain but I’ve got this far I just don’t want to do anything to risk it now!
Wow you are on a lot but I’d be really pleased with that. I’ve had a bee in my bonnet about progesterone levels throughout for some reason so this is really worrying me. I begged and pestered for my levels to be tested on OTD think they agreed just to shut me up! I woke up this morning worrying about it all so I know how you feel!
Oh brilliant well done for speaking to your clinic! I totally get it and you don’t want to take any risks at this stage. I wish I could be enjoying this stage too, but after infertility and a loss it’s hard to.
Definitely get your lubion from Asda pharmacy if you can…my clinic was £105 for a weeks worth and Asda was about half the cost as they supply fertility drugs at cost price unlike other pharmacies. Good luck! Xx
I was in lubion twice a day as well as two cyclogest until I got a positive blood test so 14dp5dt then switched to 3 x cyclogest until 12 weeks and stopped all meds after my 12 week scan all fine so far and am currently 16+6. Switching will be fine as your body is making progesterone now as well x
