I started my IVF journey on March and resulted on 6 embryos. First transfer(fresh) failed. Second one frozen(in June) failed as well. My dr suggested to not genetically test the embryo because of my age, 31 and due to the fact is the first IVF. Even both of embryos looked good didn’t stick. I feel devastated… Next week I’ll have a follow up appointment with my dr. Can you suggest me anything, any question or specific test I should do before another transfer?
Thank you in advance. Prayers for you all. May God give to all of us healthy babies!

On the fresh cycle I had progesterone in oil. Second one was a natural cycle, only the Hcg shot and assisted hatching was done. I don’t know what to think…
Hello, sorry you’ve experienced two unsuccessful transfers 💔
I’m the same age and was told after three unsuccessful transfers that it’s really just bad luck. Which I couldn’t accept… with each transfer, I’ve wanted to explore something different so have explored many different tests to rule further issues out. I’ve had a HyCoSy, a hysteroscopy, Karyotype testing and recurrent miscarriage testing (as I’ve had two + three unsuccessful transfers). Everything came back clear.
My AMH is on the lower side of someone my age, so we collected just 7 eggs with my first cycle and 6 made it to blastocysts. With my second cycle that I’ve just gone through, we collected 9 eggs, 8 mature and 7 made it to blastocysts so it’s unlikely an egg issue.
Ahead of my fourth transfer (I’m in my TWW now so don’t know if it’s worked), we did immunology testing and my NK cells came back elevated as did my TG antibodies so I’ve introduced steroids which the clinic believes should help with implantation.
You could ask your doctor what they would suggest you try next time to improve your chances and ask about someone of the above tests if you haven’t already? Immunology is usually explored after recurrent implantation failure and only by specific clinics as it’s controversial within the fertility field - I ticked many of the boxes of someone who should have it explored incl. a family history of autoimmune issues, repeat miscarriage and implantation failure but it wasn’t something my old clinic was onboard with.
Hope this helps. Sadly, IVF is a numbers game occasionally and I’m still sat here wondering why I haven’t had any success and it hurts my heart that I’m in this situation too. We just need to look after ourselves and trust our doctors… keep going xxx
I also had a missed miscarriage exactly 2 years ago. Even my husband has low semen parameters we did to have a natural pregnancy. It was a beautiful dream! But dreams don’t last forever. Embryo’s heart never beat..
After trying for more than 1 year we decided to not wait more and go through IVF. My AMH is low as well, only 1.84. 9 eggs collected, 8 fertilized and 6 made to embryos.
It’s a really nightmare. Waiting for transfers, waiting for results, waiting fu*****g insurance to pay and preauthorize next cycle, keeping balance of your life and marriage, working…
Sometimes I want to blame doctors and protocols or just myself….
It’s not at all your fault… it’s just one of those rubbish situations some people find themselves in. See what your doctor can advise for your next transfer in terms of prep and new tests. It’s a very tough journey, harder than anything I’ve experienced but I know it’s going to be so worth it one day and that’s what keeps me going xx
