I’ve just been for my 11 day scan and I have a whopping 19 follicles which explains my extreme tiredness and bloating. But now they’ve done a blood test on me because they think I may have hyper stimulation syndrome and depending what the results come back, they’ve said they may have to abandon the cycle so I am crushed.
What happens now? I’m otherwise set for egg collection on Monday but if these bloods show I am over stimulated, is my journey over?

Hi MomaJoni. They may be able to do an egg collection and freeze any resulting embryos, depending upon blood results. That would gifve you a chance to recover. Drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your urine output. We want to see lots and a pale colour. Hope all goes well. Diane
Not sure if your clinic will do it, but there are various ways to manage hyper stimulation risk so you don’t have to abandon the cycle. I had 2 cycles where I had 20+ eggs retrieved and they gave me cabergoline to take for a week to reduce the risk. There is also the coasting approach which was mentioned to me as an option but my estradiol levels never got high enough to take that approach
Thank you both I received the call this afternoon to say my results were absolutely fine and the plan is to continue with egg collection on Monday! I take my trigger shot tomorrow at 9.30pm! I am so excited!
