One egg IVF success

Christine_Sellwood profile image

In 2011 I had 2 rounds of IVF. Both rounds I only had 1 egg removed. The first round it didn't work, but the second round I got pregnant and had a successful birth. I now have a 9 year old daughter called Sienna. So miracles do happen!

I had 5 IUI's with no stimulation drugs, then I switched to IVF, with ICSI. I also had low AMH. I was a very poor responder to the IVF drugs, and I had approx 3 follies each side. When I had my eggs removed they told me my follicles looked like a late 40 year olds, and that I should consider a donor egg. I have one egg removed for each round of IVF, and each time they put the egg back in the next day. I have been told I have 3% chance of success, and I proved that it can work! For my first round of IVF my womb lining was thin, then I saw a great Chinese herbalist for 2 months and he helped me to be of optimum health and my womb lining was already super thick even before I started my second (successful round). I also took some other supplements, which I believe helped.

Please message me if you would like any more info

Hi, I went for egg collection today. I was expecting 4 eggs but only 2 were collected. One mature and one immature. I've been looking at post to try and find some hope as I feel so crushed. This is my second cycle of icsi and the last cycle I also only got 2 eggs one mature and one immature. And have been told I have such a low egg reserve that my body is producing all it can, which makes me feel broken. I've been in tears the last few hours as I'm so scared that we'll never be lucky enough to have a baby. But reading your post gave me hope, that maybe my story doesn't end just yet. And that maybe my one egg can be my little miracle egg. So thank you. And I would definitely love to hear what medication you were taking please?

I know it’s worrying but please don’t cry. When we do it our body don’t allow the good energy to flow and things get more difficult. Also there is something called “natural or mild ivf” in which the method is very low stims or none and it’s about the quality and not quantity. My friend got pregnant by this method.

Be faithful, you only need one.

Hi, really great to hear from you. The reason I wrote my post was to give others like us hope! I remember it being such and emotional rollercoaster. Everyone was telling me to give up, but I didn't. My egg was a little miracle! She is now 9 and called Sienna.I had a session with a leading Chinese medicine specialist called Michael McIntyre. (michael-mcintyre.com) since I saw him he has had a stroke, but I think he still see's patients. He is great for fertility, he is based in Oxford. I had one consultation, and then he sent me some bags of herbs in the post, I took these for 6 weeks. I truly believe its was these herbs that got me pregnant and got my body ready. Really happy to help you further, however I can 🙂
