What to Expect: Baseline Scan

Hi Everyone,

I have been taking Buserelin for 19 days now and due to go for my baseline scan on Monday morning but I have no idea what to expect. I have no idea what they're looking for, or what I am potentially listening out for them to say? Can anyone shine some light for me?

Hi,

It’s an internal scan to check that everything is nice and quiet, ie that the buserelin has done its thing and your ovaries are inactive so you’re ready to start the rest of the meds. They’ll also check for any cysts that might have developed. Lots of luck! Xx

Thank you so much. Im a little worried because some people have said that they are weighed on the day of their baseline scan and I have lost 75lb to get my BMI to 30, but the Buserelin has made me an absolute pig and Im worried I have gained weight and gone over the 30bmi point. They weighed me on 4th May and I was okay so signed the consent forms, do you know if they weigh me again?

I think it will vary from clinic to clinic but I’ve never been weighed at a scan - I think they just weighed me once at the beginning of tests etc so hopefully they won’t 🤞🤞 and I’m sure if you’re just over they’ll take the meds into account because I’ve always piled weight on during a cycle xx
