Like most of you I've been on quite a journey.
Had three stim cycles and one successful egg collection last year, with 4 major follicles, 3 eggs collected, all 3 fertilized, 2 fertilized normally, and had 2 embryos to freeze (1 D3 and 1 D5) as it was freeze-all and the D5 couldn't be frozen on the third day according to the lab because it was behind. These resulted in one BFN (the D3), then one pregnancy (the D5) that ended in miscarriage at the end of the first trimester.
Last week I had my second "successful" egg collection. There were five major follicles, five eggs were collected, and three of the eggs were mature. Of those three, all of them fertilized normally and "looked very good" according to the embryologist. Now we are waiting to see if we get blastocysts on day 5.
Because I was just pregnant less than three months ago, my doctor is really pushing for a pregnancy and doesn't want to "mess around." So he wants us to wait until day 5 to see if we get any blastocysts from these three, and then do a fresh transfer. It would be my first fresh transfer if we make it.
This has been a really hard road for me. I also had two cancelled stim cycles last year, the first before our successful one, due to a clinic error, and another after our successful one due to only producing one follicle. So this was my second egg collection but my fourth stim cycle.
I am hoping that the fact that all three of the mature eggs fertilized normally is a good sign, but we'll see. They said they would call us Tuesday morning (the day of scheduled transfer) if none of our embryos made it to blast stage.
