Does cyclogest keep AF away?

I am 5+3 today, with a BFP last week. My clinic unfortunately does not do HCG testing, so have to wait another week or so for first scan. I don’t really have any pregnancy symptoms, I am still taking cyclogest, but for some reason I feel different today (started yesterday). No AF or spotting, but somehow something just feels different. I know it might be my mind playing tricks, but so hard waiting for viability scan.

I tell myself, well at least no AF, but then wondering whether the cyclogest might just keep AF away.

Would home pregnancy test, not jus t continue to show positive whether pregnant or not since it would take time for Hcg to get out of body?

Thank you. I have had 5 ivf/icsi cycles - but this is the first one where an ET back was possible .. other time few eggs, extremely low fertilisation and when there was, no development past day 1, so this is so new to get to this stage

I have always bled despite being on cyclogest, so no it doesnt always keep AF away.

When pregnant you will find some days you feel very pregnant, some days you feel completely normal. Some days you might have AF cramps, some days you might have spotting. This is the absolute worst bit getting the the scan but I am sure you are fine and everything is ok.

You can keep testing but tbh I think it just causes more stress than good. I have identified two chemical pregnancies with fading pregnancy tests and was convinced it would help knowing what was going on but the reality was it didn't make it any easier at all to cope with so I would advise just to focus on positive thinking, looking after you and baby and looking forward to the scan x

Thank you for your quick reply. It makes me feel a little more hopeful. I think you are right, to not focus on testing. If not too much to ask, as I know sensitive, when did you identify your chemical pregnancy? In week 5 or 6

I am the queen of miscarriages so probably not the best to ask 🤦🏼‍♀️ My two chemicals were super early between 4 and 5 weeks. I have had one miscarriage at 5+6. One blighted ovum confirmed at 9 weeks and one missed miscarriage at 9.5 weeks. If it’s any consolation some I thought I was pregnant some I thought I was miscarrying some I had no idea what was going on!

There is no reason why your pregnancy isn’t absolutely fine. I think this forum is fab but so often it’s people with a prunes who come on here so we all get a bit negative. Think positive - nothing you have written makes me think there is anything wrong and I am sure it’s the pessimist in your head creeping out. 5 weeks is super early for proper symptoms anyway - think about it some

Women wouldn’t have even noticed a late period yet! (If not TTC)

I know how hard it is - my clinic didn’t do HCG tests either - but keep the faith I am sure it’s all good and stressing will only have a negative impact.

Masses of luck xx

Oh Daisy, thank you so much for your words. It is so kind to take time to write and I am sorry to hear about your losses. Thank you for sharing, as I know it must be so heartbreaking and painful. Give you a very big hug and really wish you the very very best in your journey.

The next one is the one. That is what I tried to say to myself, each time we had faced an unsuccessful treatment cycle, but I know how hard it is, and can’t even begin to imagine your pain.

Thank you for your encouragement and will try and keep the positive hat on. Yes as you say, it is early, so if not in treatment or ttc, I would probably not have realised pregnancy or had symptoms yet.

Baby dust to you too xx

Hi there. Just to say both previous transfers I have bled before test day whilst on cyclogest , last round I asked them to up the dosage and still bled before test date - keeping everything crossed for you x

😢😢😢 just went to the loo and am spotting. It was not bright red, but there were some clumps. I know it is not over until it is over, but combined with the feeling staring these last days of something just being different, I feel so desperately sad and don’t have much hope. This morning I had been thinking, how amazing I am now at 5+4, but now feel so scared and worried.
