My fresh ivf cycle was cancelled due to ?OHSS/pelvic infection. I’ve been told by the fertility team that I must have 3 bleeds before we can start our frozen cycle. Is this correct? I’ve been told the reason for this is to allow my body to settle down and for the mediation to leave my system but it just seems too long 😩

Is it normal to have to wait for 3 bleeds before frozen cycle?
i had a high risk of OHSS and scheduled after what would have been my first period, in the end my cycle lasted 50+ days and I didn’t even get a dominant follicle(did IVF because my tubes were supposedly blocked)- my cycle was really regular and would always ovulate. Once I got that period and then a positive ovulation test my transfer was booked for that month and I got pregnant with my son, so had to wait 1 bleed, I didn’t realise how all the hormones etc can mess your cycle up, maybe your situation is a little different? I did a natural frozen embryo transfer...
I was told the same when I had a transfer cancelled due to OHSS.... withdrawal bleed, then another bleed, then on the third I could start with the FET. I know, it feels like forever - but OHSS can get pretty nasty so if that’s what they recommend it’s probably best to accept it. It’s so tough, I know - every week and every month feel like forever 😫
Thank you both, congratulations on your success. I think I just need to get some clarification from my consultant as to what caused my symptoms, it’s not cut and dry. Im currently experiencing my withdrawal bleed so that’s 1 bleed down it’s just frustrating. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise.
