How soon after failed transfer can you try again

Hi, I am just after a failed transfer, OTD was yesterday. I am bleeding now today, is this my proper period or just after effects of treatment? How soon would I be able to try again? If this is my proper period could I start on day 21 again of this cycle or are you meant to wait until next bleed?

I did non medicated transfers so I went again with a transfer in 6 weeks - basically waited for next period and then transferred 14 days later - that’s pretty much the quickest you can do it in

Thanks for reply, the bleed that I am having now would that be my proper period or do I need to wait until next bleed? Did u get a positive result with the non medicated transfer?

The next bleed.I eventually did have success with twins but on my 4th transfer x

Hi lovely.....firstly it sucks doesn't it? I am in the same boat last week. Stay hopeful that one just wasn't the right match but he/she will be in there somewhere!!! I have been told I first have to have a talk with the consultant but generally if you have more embryos to put back they wait until your next proper period and then start you on the drugs for implant approx 10-14 days after. If they ask you to take oestrogen I recommend you get a good box set like Highlander to watch as those pills made me really quite randy!!

Thanks, really does suck but I just wana jump back in...how soon after the failed cycle should you get ur first proper period? I have a review app in 4 weeks, that was the Earliest they could give me..what is the oestrogen used for? I was only on the nasal spray, progesterone and progynova? Lol I’ll bare that in mind 😂

My clinic said that I needed two bleeds. So the bleed after transfer and then a proper period and then I could start again. I am having a medicated fet.

After my failed transfer I bled within 2 days. I’m currently cd25 of that first cycle and due to start bleeding again in the next 2/3 days. I’m normally 27/28 days.

It depends if you are doing fresh or frozen. Frozen you can often start again straight away but with fresh they prefer you to have this bleed and then one other before you start again (some clinics make you have 3) x
