Can I take clomid again after a miscarriage

After trying for 8 months and not being able to get pregnant I took clomid (first round)for 5 consequetive days and got pregnant. Unfortunately the pregnancy ended up in a miscarriage at almost three months(10wks). No heart beat and ultrasound showed only 6wks, it was a very painful experience. I had bad contractions, it's been 3 months now after the miscarriage and I'm trying my best to get pregnant again but I couldn't. Do I need clomid to get pregnant again or not? I was also worried that maybe the miscarriage happen because the pregnancy was not natural and it might be the effect of clomid.

So sorry to hear this lovely. It is very devastating. Did you talk to a doctor? Im not a doctor but Clomid is given when a woman does not ovulate by herself. It helps you ovulate and release an egg. So the pregnancy it self is very much natural.

If ovulation is a problem then you might benefit from taking clomid again BUT it is good to check with your doctor if it right time after the miscarriage etc x x x

Hi, Alhamdullillah,I second the first post. Im not a doctor but if clomid worked for you, ide try again with it.

It could be just that it was a weaker egg / chromosomally abnormal.

Are you taking vitamins to help egg quality? Eg. Prenatal, ubiquinol, rala, b12, b6, omega 3, etc. Do take them if you are not already. Also check out partners sperm (i had 2 miscarriages and only now thought of doing a dna fragmentation test on partner).

I pray you can concieve this month xx

Hi lovely, first of all I'm sorry for the miscarriages. That's a very painful thing to go through, I hope we all make it and become amazing moms. I was taking prenatal vitamin during pregnancy but stopped it after the miscarriage I'll make sure to take them again. There is no way of testing sperm here (Africa), but Thank you so much dear.

I’m so sorry for your loss—it’s such a difficult experience to go through, and my heart goes out to you. To answer your question, yes, it is often possible to take Clomid again after a miscarriage, but it’s essential to consult your doctor before starting another round. I recently used Clomid as well—5 days during my cycle, starting on Day 3—and it worked for me. It helped regulate my ovulation and gave me the boost I needed, so I believe it can be helpful again in your case too.

Miscarriages are rarely caused by Clomid itself. They’re often due to chromosomal abnormalities or other factors unrelated to the medication. Since it's been three months, it might be a good time to discuss with your doctor whether your cycles have regulated and if Clomid is the right next step. Make sure to track your ovulation and overall cycle health as well—it’ll give you and your doctor a clearer picture of what’s happening. Stay strong, and I’m wishing you the best of luck! ❤️
