just went to the toilet and wiped off blood . Am 5weeks 4days today. Please has anyone experienced something like this . Am scared

I have not personally experienced this as I'm just now pregnant for the first time (4 weeks 6 days), but I have seen lots of posts from women on here with the same thing, so it is very common and not something to worry about. From what I have read, it is usually because your embryo is continuing to implant in the uterine wall. If the bleeding isn't heavy and isn't accompanied by strong cramps then it's nothing to worry about.I know it must be terrifying but please try to stay calm, and know that this is normal. Thank you Rachel and congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope everything goes well for you. Am having a bed rest at the moment, will be going for my 6 weeks scan next week. Fingers crossed, hope everything goes well.

I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and have bled so much! My first bleed was bright red with clots which lasted one day and then I had a bit or red spotting a few days later. Had a scan at 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. Then I started bleeding a week ago and was so sure I miscarried because of the amount of blood and massive clots accompanied with bad cramps. I went for a scan on Monday and everything was perfect. I’ve been bleeding ever since with cramps. I have my next scan on Wednesday and still worried. My clinic think it could be from the amount of hormones as I’m taking a lot of progesterone and estrogen as it’s ivf. It is definitely scary seeing blood, but try not to panic- it is common. If it’s only a little bit I’m sure it is nothing. There’s a lot going on in there! Lots of love ❤️

Thank you soo much for reassuring me. Am trying to stay calm and have lots of rest, my bleeding has stopped as my clinic sent someone in to give me a progesterone injection which has made the bleeding and the cramps stopped. I’ll will be having my scan next week so fingers crossed.

Wishing you the best of luck. Don't wanna worry you but I started out with spotting at 5wks 4 days which progressed to bad lower back cramps and heavy bleeding/clots today.

If you start to get a stabbing pain in your side or back pains that are like period cramps but extra painful that's accompanied by bigger bleeds you should attend at A+E, they may say it's too soon to scan you but you can at least get a hcg check and reassurance that it's still rising (unfortunately that wasn't the case for me and we have a scan on Monday to most likely confirm the MC).

Aww am soo sorry for your lose, I’ll be praying for you.

I’ve had a progesterone shot yesterday which has made the bleeding and the cramping stop. I have my scan next week so am trying to remain hopeful that everything is fine.

Hi Zari, I am almost the same as you and had blood last night too, although it has now stopped. I was absolutely terrified too, and I have to wait a week for my scan! Keeping everything crossed for us xx

It’s quite scary isn’t it, fingers crossed I hope everything goes well on our scan next week, will keep you updated. I had a progesterone shot from my clinic yesterday which has stopped the bleeding n cramping.

I’m 9 weeks today and have been bleeding on and off since week 5. On the scans it showed I had a pool of blood in my uterus. I had my first scan at epac at around 5 weeks and 5 days ... over 6 they will defo see you so get referred by your GP or A and E. keep an eye on if the bleeding gets heavier or comes and goes .. when I had mc it gradually got more and heavier where as this has been more on and off.
