Spotting
Hi, not sure how far gone you are but I spotted at 4.5 weeks and my clinic offered me the blood test but said I'd have to go back 48 hours after the initial test. At that point, I decided to wait until the 6 week scan. They said they would see very little prior to 6 weeks, so there was no point scanning sooner. Also, don't be alarmed if they don't see a heartbeat this early as you will only see this at 7/8 weeks.
I know how you feel, I've had 3 mc and have finally made it to 18 weeks with this pregnancy. Had some bright red blood last night and went into the hospital, bleeding had calmed down by then and all looked OK, luckily, but having had mc I'm on high alert. What really really got to me was the sight of 2 very pregnant ladies almost at full term and they both went out together for a cigarette break.😡 It's so unfair that we do all we can to hold onto our babies and women are puffing away on cigarettes during pregnancy. It really upset me to see them, I actually couldn't control my emotions at that point!
Best of luck for your scan, I hope it turns out to be nothing. Sometimes the pessaries can aggravate your cervix and as well as that, the nurses always politely ask you if had intercourse recently as this can do the same. 😳
Thanks for your reply I am 5 weeks 1 day my clinic won't scan me toll 7 n half weeks 1st March so booked for a private on Saturday I think I am going to do my pessaries up the bum from tonight to see if it stops I am trying to be positive I also thought Ithat may be 1 of them coming away as I had 2 transfered it really is unfair x
I had 2 transferred as well, they both developed and I'm carrying twins. From what I hear, bleeding is common in both IVF and in twin pregnancies. I did the pessaries up the front, I didn't have applicators with them so didn't fancy going the other way!
Anyway, that's perfect, you will be 6 weeks on Saturday so they will see something. They will know at that point if it's twins as well, it still comes as a little shock even if you're half expecting to see two! I think at this stage as long as you're not seeing clots and not soaking a pad every hour, you should hopefully be ok.
Try not to worry too much- easy to say I know. I had quite a heavy bleed this week and it looks like it might have been the second embryo and a big blood clot. Apparently it's more common in IVF to bleed because the drugs have made your lining thicker. I'm on progesterone injections now and they seem to have worked as its stopped but we won't know for sure until Thursday when I have 7 week heartbeat scan.
I had a miscarriage at 13 weeks a year or so ago so I understand why you're worried- I freaked out when I saw the blood but the doctor didn't seem worried at all. And sounds like you are having much less. Good luck xx
