Definitely, it is very hard to not look ahead and think about everything that may happen. It is so tempting to start thinking about how life will be in 3, 6, 9 months! I don't think hope is ever a bad thing, and going in to it feeling hopeful seems like the best thing to do 🤭
Totally agree, I’m believing this will work first time, if it doesn’t I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I had my egg retrieval yesterday morning still feeling very tender and bloated, did it take you long to recover? xx
I spent a couple of days in bed, and yes also felt bloated and stomach pain. Felt okay by 3rd day, but I think the pessaries are making me feel bloated as still don’t feel 100%. How did you get on regarding number collected and fertilised? Positive I hope! X
Ah ok, I'm sure my side effects are completely normal then, glad you are feeling better. Yes really happy, 9 eggs retrieved, 7 mature and all 7 fertilised, will get another call on Saturday with an update 💫🙏🤞 good luck with your transfer, keep us updated xx
Yes, I would say so- the nurse did tell me to expect period type pain. That’s great regarding your eggs- Very similar numbers to me- I’m going with them being lucky numbers! X
Hi Sunshine! I’m also first round IVF and egg collection on Monday! How’s your follicle count looking? Mine is pretty low (total of 7 and only 2-3 at a good size), so odds aren’t in my favour. Still, am trying to remain positive
Hi KatieJLW. Exciting! I have 10 follicles growing, but the nurse thought only 5 will be the right size on Monday. We just have to wait and see, things can change very quickly, so we both may have more than the scans show by Monday. Fingers crossed we are both lucky and this world first time for us 🤞🤞🤞xxx

Good luck Sunshine! A rollercoaster for sure. I had mine today and all the pent up emotion from the last few days just came out in front of the poor nurse who had to wait till I stopped sobbing before she could finish her questions! We got more eggs than expected and now the anxious wait for the fertilisation report tmrw. Hope it goes well.
I’m sure the nurses are very used to! Oh wow, that’s really great you got more than expected. Keeping everything crossed for you that you get the them all fertilised! 🤞

At the moment I’m feeling stupidly anxious that I’m going to do the injection wrong tonight! I’m sure everyone feels this way, but still! Ooh exciting, fingers crossed it happens for you next week. How are you feeling? Have the scans been good so far? X
Is the injection much different to the others? Can understand the anxiety though. Such an important one that you’ll want to do it right. I can’t imagine we can go that far wrong with them otherwise they wouldn’t let us do them at home! You’ve got this. You’ve got this far 👊🏼
I’m alright. I’ve only got 3 follicles so it’s been a tough old week and had some real low points after scans but trying to focus on the fact they are growing and these could still be strong, good quality eggs and so numbers won’t matter so much 🤞🏼

When did you start taking the stims? I ask because they could only see 4 follicles on Monday, by Friday there were 10. Anyway, as you say, stay positive, I’ve read loads of stories about people having successful pregnancies with very few eggs extracted. We only need one!Have taken my trigger injection now, was of course fine, just me being anxious because of the importance of it! Feel better now it’s done! Good luck sunshine. My egg collection should be next week too. I had a scan Friday and my next one is Monday. Hoping egg collection will then be weds or thurs next week. Not sure how it all works for transfer then with the easter holidays??!!Does anyone have any advice with taking meds with the clocks changing? I've been told I must do them at the same time every day but that will all go to pot after tonight 🙈

I wouldn’t worry too much. The stimulation injections need to be within the same 4 hour period, so don’t it should be fine. X
I’ve done my trigger injection. They originally told me to take it at 10.15pm, then messaged me this eve to say they forgot the clocks were changing so take it at 11.15pm, then called to say “actually take it at 9,15pm”

I remember the feeling before EC very well - did my first one in November! Mixed emotions of excitement for finally getting this far and also a bag of nerves as no idea what to expect! I knew things might not work out in the back of my head, but I decided to stay positive and full of hope too! And just deal with the negative side if I had to. I was not thinking too far ahead, just one step at a time and seems to have helped me deal with it all, but realise this might not be the right tactic for everyone 🥰 But yes, one massive rollercoaster.

Yes, everything is looking great. 6 high quality embryos cooking away 😀. The next call I have will be Saturday now, so have the same wait time as you- this is tough!

Yeah same here, I cried I just couldn’t hold it back but it was through happiness 🙈 I feel ok still feel tender and having cramps hoping it’s a good thing but who knows 🤷🏼♀️. Hope your feeling ok xxxxx
Same! I just laughed and cried! Oh, I’ve read cramps are a good thing for sure, as can be a sign of implantation 😀. Also, don’t forget the pessaries cause quite a lot of side effects. I spoke to the nurse today and said I was feeling uncomfortable from them, and she said physically this is the worst bit because of the pessaries, much worse than injections! It’s hard to not get paranoid about every twinge isn’t it, I did the same earlier!
Yeah I’m not enjoying the pessaries constantly clock watching for the next one 🙈 it really does take over your life IVF doesn't it . Iv tried not to do too much, I know they say just carry on as normal but I want to do everything I possibly can 🤞🤞 atleast we are in this two weeks together 👍🏽 Xxxx

I had my collection today with 30 eggs collected! We were only expecting 15 at the max so that now means I have to freeze all instead of transferring on Monday. So many mixed emotions, so pleased with having that many eggs but also so disappointed that I can't have a fresh transfer! Wishing all of you the best of luck 🙂

Hi sunshine1910 so sorry I have only just seen this. Yes all went well and I got 15 eggs. So pleased. They did say some are on the small side and dark in colour so may not be mature. I get a call tomorrow to tell me how many have fertilised.Do you know what time your call is tomorrow? X x

Oh wow Foxkinder, 13 fertilised is amazing! I’ve had my transfer and all went well, I have a 5AA on board and have 5 more (two AA’S and the other three are varying quality so it maybe that they will only freeze the two, but not sure yet). Feeling very lucky. Didn’t expect that at all for first round of IVF! Xx

Yes that's what I thought too but my old clinic never used letter grades and a 5/3 was the best quality. Tbh it really confused me. My new clinic use grades A-F. Is that pretty standard? How is the start of the 2ww going x
Yes, I’ve googled to see what the grades mean and yes the number and two letters are very much standard. Everything talks about them on here too, so how odd with your old clinic! That’s good you’ve switched to one that is more standard now. Have you done this a few times then?Yeah, I’m doing okay. Can’t help googling every time I get any sort of feeling, which is stupid but feels impossible not to! How about you? Are you coping okay waiting to find out how the eggs are progressing? Yes this is my 3rd actual go, 4 if you count the cancelled cycle due to Covid.We have had 1 fresh (2 x embies) and 1 frozen.
I'm doing OK but been pretty distracted today. My next update isn't until Tuesday and that seems forever away and I just worry mine will have survived 🙈.
How r u doing? It is completely normal to over think every single sign and symptom. It's a bloody tough journey x

It was Wednesday, it was sadly a negative. Why did I expect it to work first time?! Urgh! This is hard. Just feel so deflated. Have follow up appointment booked on 27th, so I’m hoping I can get one of my two frozen embryos transferred ASAP. When’s your test day? X
