Egg collection booked for Monday morning

Hi everyone

Sorry, have become a serial poster this week but it’s lovely to connect with people who understand! Had final scan today. Still only two follicles of a really good size but a third is now 12mm so a possible contender for egg collection as has time to grow before Monday. Nurse agreed that it seems a bit crazy to cancel this cycle so we are going for egg collection on Monday and just have to keep fingers crossed we get at least one egg...

Have just seen your post about your egg collection, what great news! How did you find the procedure? Do you know any more about your transfer yet? X

I wasn’t worried about the procedure at all, mostly the post OHSS. It took me longer to wake up after the procedure and it was mostly like a cramping feeling afterward. They had to give me triple the sedative as it took 50 mins due to the number of follicles (I had 40). Unfortunately not all were viable but we still managed to get 8 mature eggs (6 total fertilised).

They are going to phone us Day 3(sat) for an update and day (5) Monday. Transfer looking like Monday depending on my OHSS and if we have any blastocyst’s x

Oh wow, triple the sedative... Great that they got 8 eggs and that 6 have fertilised 😃 Hope the updates go well for you. Monday will be a big day for both of us! X

Hey, I got called in on Saturday (Day3) as our little embryos weren’t doing so good. They asked us to phone tomorrow for a freeze update. How are you doing ? X

Transfer went really well thanks for asking. My chest started to feel tight last night though and I have now been diagnosed with ohss. I just hope this doesn’t effect our chances as we had no embryos to freeze 😭 x

I’m doing okay, my main issue is the swelling is squashing my diaphragm so I’m very breathless. My chest is causing me some pain due to this. Just resting atm and having loads of fluids, hopefully will feel better soon. How are you? X

Oh no, feeling breathless isn’t good 😞 Hope the rest and fluids do the trick soon. I’m good thanks, they collected 4 eggs on Monday and I got a call today to say 3 have fertilised 😃 So another step closer...! Will get another call tomorrow and may have transfer in the afternoon or if the embryos are doing well they may advising waiting til Thursday or Saturday. Fingers crossed for good news in the morning! X

Not yet. We’re supposed to call on my next period on day1 to book a day21 mcct and bloods, then call again on the following day1 to start, but everything will probably delayed until after Christmas because of the clinic’s festive shut down.

I’ll try to call on day1 of November period, but I don’t think we’ll have the chance to start before Christmas.

Me too for Monday, I have 3 follicles so keeping my fingers crossed too that they had a bit more time to grow. This is my third IVF as only got one egg last cycle so saying all my prayers this weekend too, keep in touch on how you go x
