Hi all. I have been told I will need heparin for my next FET. I’m feeling very anxious about self injections.... does anyone know if it comes in a pen cartridge, similar to the those used by diabetic clients? Thanks in advance!
Heparin : Hi all. I have been told I... - Fertility Network UK
Heparin
I am also on blood thinner Clexane not Heparin but are almost the same. They come in prefilled syringes but needles are different than the ones we use for stimulation, are more thicker 😤 and I don't want to scare you but these injections are heck painful. I cannot injection myself, my husband is helping me. Hope you are braver than me and will be able to inject yourself 🤞🤗❤️ good luck
I second this, the needle itself I don’t find hurts so id say you’d be able to self administer, but immediately after and for about 5-10 minutes it stings a lot! After that it’s fine. My husband does mine too, mainly so he can feel part of the process but makes it easier so I can sit and feel sorry for myself for the next 10 minutes xx
Hi I have been on Heparin for all my rounds and I always self inject. as Ranchu says they are prefilled needles so you don't need to do any mixing just tap the air out and go.. they are really easy.
They sting a bit but you will be ok! x
Just wish I could get a press button form😱
Hi, I also used Clexane during my IVF round (3 rounds already still unsuccessful though). I have a small trick to prevent you from pain, just applying ice pack to your belly around 3-5 minutes then inject it. I felt it totally fine with me, no pain afterwards just bruise sometimes.
Hope this helps.
