Hey, well it didnt stop mine. I had a spontaneous miscarriage at 6wks whilst on cyclogest but was ina great deal of pain. I knew I had lost the baby at the time from what I'd passed. Hopefully you've just experienced some bleeding from a SCH as you said. At the same time as my loss a lady i cycled with experienced terrible bleeding and passing clots and she went onto have a little boy. All the best with your scan.xx

Thanks for your reply Cinderalla5. I am sorry to read you went through an early loss previously. These weeks are so uncertain. Its miraculous how us ladies stay sane. I have managed to book a scan at EPU for first thing Tuesday so hopefully i shall know a bit more albeit likely too soon to know the heartbeat status just yet but its a start xx

Thank you. Staying sane is definitley the hard bit!! Hold onto he fact you didnt have pain with your bleeding. I had some spotting/bleeding with this pregnancy a few times leading up to and the last around 13wks. Its scares the living daylights out of you, I truly hope you get good news on Tuesday!xxx

It has stopped MC bleeding once for me but it hasn’t stopped it another time so I don’t think there is a definitive answer. Did you have more than one embryo transferred? Good luck for your scan x

Just the one embryo transferred. I had 3 the same grade and the embryologist said from time lapse this one showed healthier cell division. Truly hoping it might be a SCH as had this before with my son but a little later at 7/8 weeks. Thanks for response. xx

In my experience it can definitely go either way.

During one pregnancy I had light bleeding at five weeks which turned out to be a miscarriage. The fertility clinic advisedly me to keep taking the progesterone until I had a negative pregnancy test just in case. I didn’t properly bleed until after I stopped taking the progesterone.

My next pregnancy I had light bleeding around 5 weeks but had a scan at 6 and saw a heartbeat so the bleeding was probably just implantation.

Fingers crossed it works out for the best for you. xxx

Thank you so much for your response. i have managed to book an early scan at EPU for Tuesday at 9am. At least i will have some more info although unlikely to see heartbeat if one should be present. Hoping if a SCH it will show up on scan. I am sorry the pregnancy before your successful one was a loss for you. I also have bloods booked to check levels. x

Hi Sunset, just wanted to say I feel you. I'm 5+3 and have had bleeding for a week but never as strong as my period and no pain (just mild cramps which you could argue are the same as those you'd get during normal pregnancy).

My scan isn't until the 31st and my IVF nurse seems to want me to just press on until then unless things get worse.

I asked the same question, whether cyclogest would delay symptoms but she said no. And again from the responses it seems that there's not rhyme or reason. I've decided (for the moment) to hold out for my scan but I wanted to let you know you're not alone 💕

I am sorry you are going through something similar Minnesota_girl! Its so nerve wracking these early weeks until the viability scan isn't it. Are you using your cyclogest back door now with the bleeding. I switched it this morning and so far touch wood the bleeding has stopped so i hoping perhaps some irritation up there ( i also have a mild prolapse to top things off!!) The blood i saw initially was just when i wiped and was bright red with small freckle size clots but then quickly switched to just a pink smear. Have your clinic shed any light what it may be, did they offer more hcg bloods? Really hope you get a good outcome on the 31st. Praying for us both xx
