Hiya so not sure where to post this really, I'm just hoping someone is going through or has been through same experience
So we're on 8months ttc after coming off the pill for 7years, before the pill I had very irregular periods so expected the same when came off. I remember only have 2 or so a year and that seems to be how it's going now toas only had 1 after 5months and not seen a 2nd yet.
I've been to the doctors to first sort out my irregular periods or to find out the cause and first they thought pcos so had ultrasound sound and bloods and they are thinking might be pcos but without the cysts as my follicles looked good and clear. Anyone else have pcos without the cysts?
Also had thyroid levels come back overactive in Dec then 2nd test came back under active so now waiting on 3rd test next week to determine so can start treatment for that, anyone else had this issue too 🤦♀️ waiting on gynaecologist appointment next.
I'm also type 1 diabetic but that doesn't seem to be causing any issues, I'm 24 a normal weight and am losing it slightly not knowing what the issue is.
Has anyone had any experience at all like this that can just reassure me at all
Thanks x

Hi Beth. I had an overactive thyroid. Most people seem to only speak about underactive so I can hopefully help. Not exactly the same but I had an overactive thyroid (they suspect) for about 5 years. When a new GP (i had to change Dr's as had been trying to conceive for 2 years and my old one was useless) on my very first appointment with him said to check my thyroid. He said it was one of the most common reasons why women couldn't conceive. I'm now looked after by an endo, I was checked for type 1 as well and still being monitored for that. My endocrine system has been severely disrupted because my overactive thyroid wasn't treated for so long. Anyway. I ended up having to have my thyroid gland out but all my tests now say my hormone levels are stable and normal. If your thyroid gland or pituitary gland (that tells your thyroid what to do) are out of whack, the rest of your hormones are out of whack including your reproductive hormones so can't conceive. All fixable but takes a while and you have to get lucky with the right GP and right Endo. I've managed to conceive twice naturally since having my thyroid levels stabalised (unfortunately they didn't work out but got other reasons) so if you get the balance right. It can work. My endo is treating me in a way to optimise getting pregnant so something to speak to them about. I'm NHS by the way, not private.
Hiya, that's great to hear I was scrolling and couldn't find much to do with over active! I have my 3rd blood test next week to confirm either under or active so hopefully that will start me on the right path 🤞
Thank you for replying it's nice to hear that, that might be the main issue even if doctors don't think so right now
