Spotting after BFP

Hi all,

I’m 8dp5dt and have been having positive tests since 5 days. Last night and this morning I’ve had some spotting when I wipe. It’s really not heavy at all but after a miscarriage I’m terrified it will get heavier and turn red. Also my periods always start in a similar way to this.

Just looking for some reassurance from peoples experiences - I know it’s common but it’s stressed me out

My OTD is tomorrow so I will call the clinic then and I hope they will do a blood test?

I wasn't doing ivf- but this pregnancy I had pink spotting 11 DPO I was totally convinced my period was coming as I get spotting before my period is due. I was that sure I almost didn't take a test but I wanted to know either way! I'm sorry for your losses, I've had 2 chemical pregnancies and late loss at 20 weeks, I do know pregnancy losses do taint a pregnancy and rob you of the excitement. I hope yours is just implantation like mine was. Think it's a good idea to get blood test that will put your mind at rest. Xx

So sorry to hear of your losses 😢 I hope it’s implantation too. I wondered if it could happen a few days after it was implanted as I’ve got no idea! Thanks for replying. I hope it’s standard to get a blood test from the clinic if not I will ask xx

Its hopefully just a little implantation bleeding. I had something similar and it wasnt a lot but yes any kind of pink is scary! Hang on in there, hopefully all good signs.xx

Thank you for the reply. I hope it’s just that, you just don’t want to see any kind of colour at all. I am guessing it could still be implantation bleeding couldn’t it xx

Strawberry I'm in exactly the same position xx and have had experience with miscarriage so I get how scary it is.

Day 9 is today and I haven't had more spotting yet but had it twice yesterday x

How much are you getting? Mine isn’t a lot at all if I’m rational about it - but I worry there is more to come! I’m hoping it’s implantation for both of us. I called my clinic today and they said don’t worry at all - also that pessaries can make a little look more than it is. How are you feeling about it? Xx

Mine is hardly anything either, basically a few drops. I've been putting my pessaries in the other way as I was getting so sick of the mess! So can't blame that. But it isn't much and it (for the moment) has stopped...

As you say I'm just worried it's a sign of more to come. And last time spotting at 11 weeks ended in miscarriage so it scares us.

I'm glad you called the clinic. It's funny as I've been thinking I shouldn't call them before my OTD or they might tell me off for testing early 😂 silly I suppose.

My suggestion it is to check your progesterone levels on OTD. Unfortunately I learned hard way that I am not absorbing well pessaries and this was the reason for me spotting before OTD. Usually if you have enough progesterone you will have no spotting so early. I had 2 transfers without progesterone being checked and I was spotting, on my 3rd transfer I checked it twice and had no spotting because my doctor put me on progesterone injections. Thank you for your reply 😊 I’m already on injections as well so I’m hoping that is enough. I was spotting from 5 days from transfer last time. The spotting I had this time has stopped now so hopefully I won’t get anymore 🤞🤞🤞🤞
