I’m sorry if this is triggering in any way for anyone but I just wanted to ask advice and hopefully seek reassurance.
I am nine weeks following embryo transfer, everything was going well but I then developed symptoms and tested positive for covid today. I know the research points to covid not affecting pregnancy so early on but I am now terrified this is going to affect the growing embryo. Has anyone had any experience or advice?
Thanking you

Sorry hun, I don’t have any personal experience but I know of a lady here on the forum that had the same experience...she was terrified but in the end she didn’t develop very bad symptoms and all was well with her pregnancy, she’s still pregnant 😃wishing you all the best for a quick recovery, take care of yourself ❤️And your little bubba ❤️🤞🏻🍀xx
My friend tested positive at 7 weeks and, like you, was terrified it would affect the baby. All was fine though. It’s not pleasant I’m sure but hang on in there and hope you get better very soon xx
Please don’t worry! I tested positive at 12.5 weeks and it was very, very mild. My doctor said that pregnant women handle it very well (I’m based in the US so there are lots of pregnant women who have already had COVID).
Hi, I can only tell you that on a zoom call with my fertility clinic and two specialists a few weeks ago they said that women who had tested positive For covid on egg collection, they found no transfer of covid to the eggs/embryos. So I know that doesn’t entirely help you but covid is normally in your system for a bit before it shows so if it’s not transferred to the eggs then hopefully not transferred to baby 🙏🏽❤️
Thankyou very much to all of you who have replied, you have really put my mind at ease. It’s so nice to hear some ‘real life’ stories. I e mailed my clinic yesterday and very impressed with follow up, the consultant rang me 10 minutes later, late on Saturday, to reassure me that there was no evidence it would harm the developing fetus. Just won’t be able to have my 10 week scan with them which is completely understandable.
Thankyou again everyone and I wish you every hope for your journeys xxx
