Desperate times calls for desperate measures ( failed ivf )

Hello everyone,

Has anyone in this group ever used a public hospital/clinic for their ivf? I did my ivf at a private hospital but it was unsuccessful. I wanted to try again but now resources have run dry and my husband is no longer interested of which he was the one paying for everything. Has anyone done this process in a public hospital and how was it and what were the outcome?

Do you mean a NHS hospital? To have NHS treatment you need to be eligible as per you CCG’s specifications. You would need to be referred by your GP. I had one funded round on the NHS which was unsuccessful after an incredibly slow process and poor customer service.

I’ve had a fresh and frozen cycle on NHS, in a London hospital. My friend didn’t qualify for NHS treatment at the time and went through the same process at a similar time and we basically had the same great experience. Although no babies yet, the process was top notch, I couldn’t have asked for more.

So if you’ve used up your eligibility for NHS funded rounds I am not sure what you mean by public hospital? Perhaps using an NHS hospital but funding it yourself? I guess you’d firstly want to know how long the wait for that would be.
