help second time

Yellowbellow1212 profile image

Hi everyone so I just got results and it is negative for this round of FET. This was my second with the first being a fresh 3day and this time a frozen 5day. I am holding up ok. I am starting to get a bit anxious because even though the doctor says I am young (30y) and no major problem except progesterone level a little low and a slight ovarian failure, the main reason I did IVF was because my partner had a problem. I did acupuncture for this round, if any of you know of extra push or tips advice !

So sorry to hear it didn’t work for you this time 💔

You sound exactly like me.. same situation. Two failed transfers, male factor sun-fertility. No reason for it not working.

We are doing another FET in March but this time transferring two and having my progesterone levels checked before transfer. My consultant said she’s confident it will work, it’s just taking time.

Do you have your follow up booked in? See what your consultant suggests for another cycle?

Hope you’re okay. Big hugs xxx

Hey looks like we're in the same boat. I had my progesterone checked this round and so they added to the pessaries some injections. However my doctor seems reluctant to put two because he says one could take the other one down if that makes sense and also because he ddidnt want to put two the second time around... I 'll defo ask him but after the two i have none left... Im fresking out because i m afraid of this ovarian failure which didn't seem a problem but still. anyways Lots of good vibes your way !

Yeah, I’m also worried as well for the same reason but I right now I’m trusting my consultant for this third round. I was surprised she suggested two because she’s always been against that, but she said it can increase the chance of at least one of them implanting by 8% which is appealing after two failed rounds. But I am nervous about it as I don’t want to lose two. Are they both the same graded or different? Not sure if this makes a difference though!

You could ask if there any further tests you could do prior to a new cycle? I did ask whether I’d benefit from an ERA or NK testing but was advised no.. tbh my consultant doesn’t think ERA is a necessary test full stop.

Lots of baby dust to you too. I hope your consultant has some answers for you 🤍💫 xx

Thanks you too ! I think I will for sure ask the option of the two. I know one is better than the other though in terms of quality but at this stage they already put two great ones that didn’t work so... I had really intense night sweats the first three nights do you think it’s the body rejecting the embryo ? After that I always felt like it was over . Maybe it’s in my head. In any case I am scheduled in March I’m waiting for my period to start should be any day now !Lots of baby dust to you too love

I also had really intense night sweats with my first cycle and that’s how I knew it had failed too.. prior to my miscarriage, I would get night sweats about a week before my period was due.

After that failed cycle I went to see an acupuncturist, he said my spleen was blocked and my digestive system poor which also led to poor blood circulation to my feet which were always ice cold. Since then, I’ve swapped cold juices and foods for only warm easy to digest foods, I keep my feet warm in wool socks and sleep with a hot water bottle and I’ve not experienced those sweats since. I didn’t get them with this latest cycle and I didn’t get them when my withdrawal bleed came.

The other thing I’ve noticed both times is a lump in my throat and tender neck which I now know is me having swollen lymph nodes. I noticed it after my last embryo transfer but didn’t think anything of it until I got it again this time only more painful and it’s still not gone away. My consultant said this is nothing to do with the medication I’m on or the embryo or my body rejecting it (because I felt the same, my body must be rejecting the embryo). My GP doctor said it’s due to stress, so even though I’ve kept my self in a good head space and felt okay, it’s my bodies reaction to stress that I can’t seem to control.

If it happens with my third transfer then I’ll push for all tests to be done just incase because it can’t be a coincidence!

I’m like you in that I think there is a reason but my consultant doesn’t .. so right now I have to just trust her and put my worries aside. She told me to stay of Dr Google too!

Mention the night sweats to your doctor and see what they say. It’s always worth asking them everything for your own peace of mind!

🤍💫 xxx

wow you are a warrior ! I hope it works out for you. I'm frustrated my period isn't coming fast enough. I was wondering is it possible the day of the transfer could be wrong or too late, wrongly calculated. If the night of transfer i got all these night sweats maybe it was not the right day. How can it affect the implantation is the embryo is transfered a little to early or late

How low was your progesterone? Were you given any supplements of progesterone or anything else? What was your endometrial thickness if an ultrasound was done?

i was given shots of progesterone added to the pessaries twice a day. my progesterone was tested 3 day before transfer and it was 9,9 ng . The first transfer the progesterone was not tested so I only had the pessaries

If you are suspecting that its something to do with implantation, could benefit from looking in to your estrogen progesterone ratio and endometrial thickness on ultrasound. Was there any progesterone levels done after the progesterone supplements?

i did progesterone levels the day of the OTD 9th day after transfer and it was around 70ng

Good levels from what I read here and there. Do you think it may be important that progesterone levels must be good enough even before the transfer for a receptable endometrium to be ready to receive. Just my thinking. Oestrogen levels have been normal? What day was progesterone started? I guess endometrium thickness was not checked. Not sure if its all part of the procedure. Just only some search based knowledge.

I don't really know about oestrogen levels . I dont know what they are called on the test sheet. The progesterone pessaries 200mg twice a day were started 5 days before transfer (saturday, transfer was thursday) and injection of 0,25 were on the monday when i did a progesterone levels test. I saw the doctor friday and with the ultrasound he said my endometrium looked good well vascularized. So i don't really know why it has failed twice. I know I have a slight ovarian deficit but I am 30 and he keeps saying that it should be easy.

So sorry it didn’t work this time.... it’s so hard. I have no advice to give apart from push on and go again - the heartbreaking reality is that each individual ivf cycle only has something like 25% chance of success, but success rates in healthy people are ultimately really really good if you persevere! For us it worked on the third try (now here as we’re trying for a second). So just keep strong and go again x
