Hi everyone,

I had my first embryo transfer yesterday and I’ve been experiencing back pains and bad period pains. Is this normal straight after a transfer?

I had mine on Saturday, feeling the same till date I’m on pessaries so could be from that also

Is your transfer fresh or frozen? If it's fresh it might still be your body recovering from the egg collection. But either way the progesterone pessaries have a lot to answer for as they mimic all sorts of period/ pregnancy pains.

I’ve had a frozen transfer, I have a few stomach aches before hand as well so maybe it is the tablets. I just worry as I had my transfer around the time of my period. Good luck for today, wishing you all the best!xx

Sounds like it could be the progesterone. Just try and relax into it, it’s so hard though as naturally we are more tuned into our bodies.

Fresh transfer pessaries twice a day

The pessearies are awful. Could very easily be them. I had period cramps up till 12 week scan when I then stopped them. X
