Our frozen storage fee has gone up from £200 last year to £350 this year! Anyone else found the same?

We get an invoice every year. Ours is £350 per year and I believe they only store for 10 years in total.

Jealous, thank you for telling me. Every year is mental!!! How much more do they want to take?!

Mine is $500 for six months. I'm not sure why it costs so much to run a freezer but I assume that it takes thousands upon thousands given how many different people's frozen embies are in the same freezer! 🤣

Ours was £800 for a year and it was only stored for 2 months. They said we’d get some money back if we used within first 6 months and we didn’t. But it was a small price to pay to keep our frozen embryo safe. X

Hiya Vickal,

We have just moved clinics end of last year. We had two years free with NHS but with moving we lost the remaining year. It cost us £650 to move our embryos this included a years storage. We didn’t realize the cost implication on moving. The clinic did not disclose this until we had been for a couple appointments.which we paid for upfront.

My point is that the clinics seem to just find ways to charge for anything and there is no consistency between clinics on what they charge and what they offer. It is a complete mind field.

It feels like we don’t have a choice but to pay these ever growing costs, if we want to reach our dream of having a baby.😔❤️💕❤️

Our local hospital no longer offers fertility treatments and all services were transferred to a new private clinic. Their website says they will be "continuing our ethos of 'Patients before profit' and will continue offering the same cost effective options as our existing clinics". Yet the first thing they do is increase storage fees. I'm yet to find out what treatment costs are now.

Omg I’m glad it’s not only me thinking that. They even put up the cost of doing a frozen by £195 😭🙄🙄 I think it’s terrible that they can target people who are so desperate for a baby.
